I've been looking for a couple of super casual summer dresses for months with no success. I decide to try Janet's idea of looking at Amazon. Her dresses are in today's weekly roundup.

I'm truly astounded that I found dresses in regular sizes that fit me, I like, and look good!

1-4 knee length vneck sleeveless. I've been wanting a dress that could do double duty as a bathing suit coverup for ages and this one would fit the bill. Also shown over a tee ... not sure I'd wear it this way but it could work.

5-6 Green tropical print maxi. Crewneck/sleeveless. Too long of course but that's an easy fix. Love the print.

7-8 navy tropical print. Needs a length hack too. I think I like this V-neck/short sleeved style a bit more than the crewneck/sleeveless one in 5-6. Also this print is a bit larger in scale than I think is flattering on me so I might look for a different one.

Nice! That halter dress was such a random find for me — a social media and popped up, and those are always a mixed bag.

I’m partial to the V-neck styles on you (as I am for myself), and my favorite style for you is the third one. My favorite print on you is the first one, which looks like it would make a perfect swim coverup — I have an old Tommy Bahama dress in a similar cut that I use for that purpose. But actually any of these work well for that. Good finds!

Thanks Janet! I've avoided looking for clothes on Amazon in the past because the search capabilities are so horrible (they want to steer you to certain items, not let you find what you want), and the quality is always questionable but your success changed my mind. I think I'll try more often!

Yes, I think Amazon for clothing is a totally mixed bag, but reading reviews carefully helps! There are some gems in there amongst the not-so-great stuff.

i think with a hack to the length the navy vneck will be fab. I like #1 but think you should try a size up, but then i like beach cover ups to be roomy.

I just LOVE nr 7-8!!!! Not too big, in my humble opinion-very curent to my eyes, and sooo stylish, maxi but still flattering!

Thanks kkards. Good suggestion about sizing up in #1 I'll give that some thought. A size up would most likely be a bit too loose in the armholes and too deep a V for a dress worn without something underneath, but I should consider it.

If you shorten the dress in pics #5/6, that's my fave! It has the best neckline and fit to my eye. I guess I'm a spanner today

Thanks Angie, and appreciate your opinion regardless of how different it is from those of others I'm still thinking about how many of these dresses to keep. Like the ones you showed in your weekly roundup they are all around $30 so could keep a few without any $ pain.

Shortening #3 could be transformational. I agree with Angie on the fit. If you lose the pattern where it repeats, the proportions will be completely different.

rachylou, me too! I adore green tropical prints. I have a lightweight scarf with a similar design that I could not resist yet hardly ever wear because my summers are too hot for scarves

Jaime ... I am thinking along those same lines! I've thought I didn't like to wear dresses much in summer, but in reality I have not had them in my closet (except one that requires a racerback bra which i don't find all that comfortable). Maybe it's the year to have a few and find out!

GREAT point Approprio about making sure any shortening does not destroy the appearance of the pattern ... or at least if I do then be ok with it.

I like the second and third dresses better than the first. The leaf print is the prettiest to my eye but that floral one you have considered swapping out for is maybe even prettier?
