Well color me shocked that I was able to order a pair of jeans online and actually like them. Thank you for the recommendation Angie!! For anyone trying to decide what size to order - I usually wear a 27 or 28 and ordered these in a 28 and 29. The first three pics are the 28s and the second three pics are the 29s. I think I'm going to keep the 28s although I also like the 29s. What do you think? By the way, these jeans are SO comfortable! I think I'd be keeping them even if they looked terrible (hopefully I don't have comfort goggles on!). I will need to hem them if I want to wear them unrolled but how fun for me that I can actually wear now if they're rolled! Instant gratification!

Also - please note that DD is following three trends: fashion backpack, pale pink and dog wear (her backpack is a poodle).

Oh they look great! I am finding the sizing all confusing. I am the same size(s) as you and did the same thing - will post when mine arrive (but I got the black). Is there a big difference in how the sizes feel on? They look pretty similar actually.

Wow! Both sizes look fantastic on you - I guess it boils down to how they feel and what vibe you're going for.

They are pretty similar. I think the biggest difference is the behind is more baggy in the larger size. I probably could have even gone with a 27 if I wanted a more fitted look. I didn't see the black, I'll be watching to see how you like them.

They're great on you! I don't see a lot of difference between the sizes either, so I'd go with what feels most comfortable for you. I am still oddly tempted to try these in my regular size (even though I have them a size up)...

I love DD's look too btw.

Janet - I'm tempted to order them in my smaller regular size too. But then I'm scared I'll be tempted to keep two pairs!

They both look great! To me, the smaller size looks like a relaxed skinny and the bigger size looks like a slim boyfriend - both fab.

Both sizes look great, AM. Mine fit in-between the two. And I am wearing mine right now. NO BELT. Nothing slides off. I'm telling you - best jeans of the year.

Shiny - the waist does not stretch out. I am on my fourth day of wearing them.

Mariah - Love this on you! I agree to keep the smaller. And I hear you about also ordering and keeping your regular size. I am so tempted (in March) to order and keep one size up! (I have my regular size now.) I LOVE these jeans!

Love the jeans. I vote for the 28. I think it looks better and will translate to more events. I feel like the 29s would be great for MOTG but less so for a business casual day at work.

Thanks Angie - I tried these on again last night and DH gave them the stamp of approval. I have to get my act together with the camera and take some pics.
(DH, incidentally, has gone on strike as my photographer.. he bought me one of those stands for my cell phone... I haven't figured out to use it yet).

They definitely stay up without a belt -- on me the waistband hits right at high hip bone, in a magical spot where they are just gracing the bone, they do not slide off. That is lower than I am used to, so I'm thinking I just need to get used to it. DH helpfully pointed out that I am apt to scrunch my sweat pants down that low, so he thinks it's "all in my head." Reality is that I have been wearing the BF jeans that low too... belted just so, or else they slide right off..

AM - i vote the smaller size too!

They look great, and I think the smaller size is better.

I can't remember - have we seen these yet on anyone with them un-rolled at the bottom? I'm hoping the tapered leg means they look current and stylish either way. If mine fit they'll certainly need to be hemmed a lot, and there's always the debate about how long I want them.

Greyscale - I think Janet has a picture of hers unrolled. I didn't actually play around with these to see how they would look unrolled (once I get them hemmed). But I like them so much as is that it wouldn't make a difference if I only wore them rolled.

I love the 28's. They look wonderful. I believe I have the same fossil belt?

Any chance you could measure the back rise on them? I have issues with the back rise being too short with AG jeans I have tried on in the past.

I vote smaller, although you couldn't go wrong with either of them. Your trendy daughter is adorable!!!

mtgirl - I'll try to remember to measure them when I get home tonight. Feel free to remind me! Yes, that's a fossil belt!

I bet if you call customer service they might do that for you too, if you don't want to wait for me.

Regarding the length, I got mine in a 26 and I'm 5'0 tall. They are overly long on me. If I keep, will probably have to hem them. But it's weird, they work fine "as is" if I tuck the excess scrunch into a loose bootie... or if I roll them up for sleek ankle boots (which can't accommodate tucking).

I guess what I'm saying is - even for super shorties like me, the line is not ruined even if you have to chop off 4-6 inches on the length.

In fact, I actually may not hem them at all, since I think they are cute rolled.
