I tried to post this while at the store (Lovesick... vintage) but couldn't recall my password (phone reboot... horrors!) Anyway, I found this leather jacket... perfect fit, so soft... and $30. I couldn't leave it behind. I am obvs not going to sport this with my capris... but would love a bunch of ideas of how you would wear this (trouser length, scarves, footwear, etc).

I really like this! Not crazy about it belted, maybe others will disagree...I say get!

Boots will look great, but so will heels and flats...
I think a patterned scarf would be too busy....

It does indeed. I avoid belts like the plague due to excess boobage and short waistedness. So I am belt-ignorant.

The jacket is very busy. I think solid pants would be best. I agree that you can wear boots, heels and flats with it.

When I first saw the heading, my first thought was "No one expects the Spanish Inquisition!"

Awesome coat! I think it should be pretty easy to style come fall. I agree with the others by saying that basic, non busy pieces might be best to really let the coat shine.

...or you could get crazy and pair it with some silver metallic pants.

Great finds and I agree about tying the belt in back. It still gives the waist definition without looking like the girls are crowded. I too am busy and short-waisted.

I think the jacket is great and what a steal. It looks kind of creamy with green undertone on my monitor. Would it work with a deep aubergine for fall?

It has a neutral trench feel to me so I would wear it just as you would a trench. It's a trench with a difference. I like to wear my trench with skinny jeans, opened with the belt tied in back. A tonally inspired outfit of creams and yellows would look great with this. Or, you could go with cobalt, brown or black pieces under the trench.

What a find! Can you unbutton the top button for a more flattering neckline for "boobage"? I think it should work well with long jeans and trousers - both straight leg and bootcuts and even with pencil skirts.
Now the main thing: I have read in your profile that you live in London Ontario. Is it true? I am afraid to believe there is another YLFer in my area!

OK, nw regarding this neckline business. That is why I almost didnt buy it. I would never wear it all done up like in the pics but wanted to show its shape and get suggestions. And these are all such good ones!!

That is a sweet trench! I also have the belting concern with short-waistedness and boobage. I think scarves help hide this a bit, and I hardly ever button things all the way up. Sometimes I do the tie-behind-the-back thing with belts, or I'll just tie them in the front but loosely, surrendering a bit of waist definition but adding some ease.

As for this with a scrarf, I think it's totally doable -- of course almost any solid colored scarf will work, but also a large, not small or dainty, print scarf that has some tone(s) from the coat could create a nice pattern/texture mix. I find it less intimidating to mix patterns when it comes to scarves than other items.

I like the idea of wearing it open with the tie done up in back, but I also like a trench open and belted. It gives a nice clean horizontal line down the front.

As it cools down, I really like a trench with a turtleneck sweater and wide leg jeans or trousers. Skinnies+tall boots+big scarf+trench is also fun.

You may also think about swapping out the matching belt for something you like better?

The colors of your lovely coat read neutral. It would look great with red, orange or yellow accessories if you wanted color. I'd love to try pattern mixing with a large flora or geometricl print scarf. White or cream pants/ jeans and scarf would be a crisp look.
