I went ot Montreal today (Mile End and Old Port). It was a beautiful sunny Sunday, one of the first warmer days of the season. Temperatures were around 16-18 Celsius (low sixties in F). As I walked and took the metro, I couldn't help but noticing some trends in the way people were dressed. Here are my observations:
1) Lots of flower print dresses and skirts, some of them really really beautiful! All worn with Keds type canevas tennis shoes, usually another color than white, for example a very light gray or sage.
2) Opaque or semi-sheer black nylons worn into white sneakers. It surprised me but actually it looked kinda cool.
3) High waist cropped wide denim worn with sneakers or, again, the canevas tennis (which seems to have taken over the ballerina).
4) Black joggers. With bulky white sneakers. And a perfecto or bomber type jacket.
5) Hats. Mostly worn by aging, slightly overweight men. I saw more than two in an afternoon!
