Hi all!

We are heading home from Montreal and I wanted to report out. We had a quiet couple of days - just lots of strolling to explore the Plateau and Mile End neighborhoods, although we did make it to Old Montreal for a night photography class (Airbnb experience) and a day trip to ride the Eye (one very touristy moment!). Our Airbnb was in Mile End, a neighborhood that offered a French take on everything we love about Portland Maine. It was like home but also so, so different. We loved it!

Suz: we went to Damas (we had also gone in Jan 2017 when we were last here). This is one of our all-time favorite restaurants! Best meal of The weekend.

LePed: I did make it to Citizen Vintage and tried on a Philip Lim jacket (too big) and a Maje silk top (too small).

We walked so much I realized I should have picked my trainers. My little sandals and white leather “fashion” sneakers were insufficient for walking in the heat. I have bandaids all over my toes now!

I stayed away from Rue Catherine (we had been there in Jan and I was not interested in the crowds, the expensive designers, or the retail chains.) We did most of our shopping in Mile End, where I discovered two Quebec designers I LOVE and am sure I will seek out in the future.

So, the pictures...

1. New purchases: ribbed sweater from Unicorn (pop up shop). Ballet slippers from Maguire (fave new Quebec designer #1: beautiful, amazingly comfortable shoes). I intentionally bought the shoes in the same color family as the top to try to promote some color integrity in my fall wardrobe. The shoes are called Sienna, and I think this rusty color will be great with the black, navy, and grey that dominate my fall/winter wardrobe. (I also imagine this outfit with jeans and my striped Frame blazer in the fall.) What do you think?

2-4: New purchases: black suede tie loafers from Maguire and an absolutely perfect t-shirt from fave #2 local designer Mylene B. I loved this designer’s aesthetic (greyscale, I felt like this shop was where the two of us meet) - and she was a really sweet person also. I really wish I had tried on/purchased a wonderful short-sleeved white shirt (https://www.myleneb.com/shop/chemisier-tablier).

6: street style: epitome of cool girl French fashion: tattoos, perfect short hair, little tie top, high-waisted cropped jeans, slingback flats.
