Moniker - what do these outfits have in common? ETA: recent wiws

Pondering what my style moniker could be... Looking through my WIWs and documented outfits, only these three feels somewhat like hits, not complete misses.

Do you have any thoughts on what these outfits could have in common? How can I deduce a style moniker out of these?

I guess how i FELT in the outfits are more similar than how the outfits themselves are composed. I will try to describe my string of thoughts, sorry in advance for awkwardness, as English is not my mother tounge!

I felt intentional, relaxed cool, interesting, like some of my creative side could shine through, approacable, trendy (at least not unmodern).

I love the 80's retro of outfit nr.1.
I like the scandi minimalist trendy take of outfit #2.
Then there's something about the ragdolly shirt underneath the strict and classic blazer, which really amuses me in outfit #3. I also feel the neon shoes are bold and fun, two words I also want to convey/feel.

Have at it if you have any ideas for me! Thanks in advance and happy holidays for whom it may concern

ETA:
Three recent WIWs to add. Worn more as an experiment to wear the existing pieces in my wardrobe in new and fun ways. I see the sporty tomboy here, for sure... Not sure that is what I want to convey

Don’t feel the need to apologise for your English,l am always in awe of anyone on the forum who can talk about fashion in a language that is not their native tongue,l can only manage to discuss the weather in another language !You have a great look,casual,creative ,Euro style minimalism are words that it conjures up.

I think you have an interesting contrast between bold/fun and gentle color combos (even if not all neutrals, I don't think you do many color combos that go straight across the wheel) in a scandi minimalist sort of vibe.

That probably only muddies the waters more. Sorry.

You are a CAT! Classic - Artistic - Tomboy. I would add Scandi, but I am hesitant to call you a SCAT (animal poop!)

To break it down further: CLASSIC - because the garments you choose could be from a ‘top 10’ list of what should be in a woman’s closet - white button down, mariner T shirt, black pants, jeans, jean jacket, blazer style jacket. ARTISTIC - because you mix things up a bit (the neon sneaks, some other unusual garments) and play with layers, tones, and colour. TOMBOY - because I see pants more than dresses, sneakers, casual elements and ‘borrowed from the boys’ style. (A more formal menswear look would be ‘gentlewoman’. Tomboy is a little more rumpled/casual, IYKWIM.). SCANDI - because your choice of 3 favoured outfits shows a decided preference for pale colours (a hallmark of Scandi home decor) but you are not necessarily a true ‘minimalist dresser’. (I would go back to CLASSIC, here. You might have a modest sized (minimalist) closet, but your outfits are not austere.)

Relaxed Synchronicity

I’m thinking of synchronicity in its reference to two or more occurrences which fall into a meaningful pattern, but which have no particular rational connection. Intuitively you feel you are on the right path because the synchronicity seems too purposeful to be just random good luck so following your feelings strengthens the pattern in a way that rational cause-and-effect thinking can’t do. More intuition, less intellect.

Relaxed implies the creative license you give yourself to listen to that intuitive side of your mind.

In short, maybe you DON’T need the guide of a style moniker.

OMG, Runcarla, that is hilarious! And very informative, thank you so much. In fact, thanks to all of you who contributed your thoughts here, interesting to see how others perceive ones style! A lot to ponder. (A completely free and equally fun part about my favourite hobby!)

I agree about the tomboy-ness and sporty-ness. I can see it too, but this is what I want to step away from a little bit.. Maybe I should explore the more ladylike and classic elements.

As for taking my pics down, well, I am not really pleased with any of them. I appreciate getting valuable feedback on here. As I get a better hold of this I will add other pics I can be more proud of!

I guess to me, because you look quite young, and you do look what I think of as Scandi- kind of like a human version of my beautiful Swedish white oak floors from sustainable forests in my new home- then I’d say Scandi cool girl.
The middle pic especially says that to me.

@Synne - check out Bonnie’s outfit posts for inspiration. Her moniker is ‘Arty Tomboy’ but she manages a very ladylike style with a core of neutral classic elements and a smidge of lagenlook - and nails it.

I fully agree with her assessment and the CAT moniker. I'm a little sad that you say you want to move away from the tomboy element, you are a natural tomboy dresser. I guess if I had to suggest a change to subtract some boyish elements from your style it would start with the shoes (and hopefully end there? don't want to see too much change, I love your style) becoming more feminine. Some leopard almond toe ballet flats, or maybe the same shoe in a neon pop since those high-tops look striking in that bright color.

I am so taken with owning the SCAT moniker that I now have to reverse-engineer it to find the appropriate descriptors for my style. I can't wait to ask my husband if my outfit looks like wild animal poop!!!!!!

With outfit 2 I think it might look better if you removed the sweater, tuck the shirt in, add a nice belt, and tuck the pants into boots as the ends look frayed.
Trying to wear the same clothes different ways gives you a variety of choices

One more thought: something that has helped me is considering what silhouettes I prefer, which is a somewhat different exercise than the moniker. There are a few clear elements that these three looks share: structured/boxier top layer, slightly cropped pant length, and ankle-high footwear. Maybe you see something else, but these sort of patterns can be as useful as the moniker to keep in mind when you're deciding what to wear or purchase!

As of young, I guess that term is relative No one would confuse me for a twenty-something, but I guess my sartorial choices skew a bit young. I want to dress age-appropriate, so maybe this is something I should focus more on.

I love Tomboy-styles on others, but I aspire to dress more feminine. My body shape is very yang (tall, broad shouldered), so I have tried to avoid too cute, pretty and femme clothing (I never wear heels). I feel very costumy and out of character in gamine clothing. I need to figure out a way to incorporate more yin and soft in my style. Maybe I could start with finding more cute and dainty footwear.. Angie is a great inspiration here, I know, always in flats but still so chic and pretty. Hm..

I share broad shoulders and slim frame with you ( I'm average hight 5'5" ) and usually feel better in not feminine clothes. I go with Trinny & Susannah "The Body Shape Bible" - The Cornet shape: "Play up the drama of your angular body in everything you wear. Imaging yourself prancing down the catwalk of your life, pausing only to strike a great pose on each street corner." Sadly I'm not as brave to go full force on that advise but I'm trying .
I admire your unusual and bold outfits and looking forward to a new chapter of your evolving style.

@slimcat I had to google The Cornet shape, and this came up! Bwahaha. Gorilla shape. Trinny and Susannah are hilarious and right on the money. Yes, the little I know about Kibbe types places me in the flamboyant natural/soft dramatic category. Here one is also encouraged to emphazise ones angles and characteristics. Intriguing, as forexample my broad shoulders is something I have tried to play down.

These are the aspects that I see. You look like someone comfortable in your own skin - confident and interesting.

If you want to downplay the tomboy side I do think hair jewelry and shoes are good ways to do this. You have long hair already which helps.

I chose Relaxed Bold Elegance as my aspiration - I don’t always achieve it though!

Synne - I think outfits that were used in the book probably look outdated now - especially since there aren't iron-clad rules anymore. However the principle of playing the shape with a lot of interesting details, long and short "bits&pieces", dramatic and unusual things staying true I think. Of course everyone interpret things differently in their own way.
P.S. The whole book is still useful as a starting point. The other one I like "Who do you want to be today?" by them.

@Synne I too have a tall frame and wide shoulders. I was told to show off my body and curves by wearing more form fitting clothing and be proud of my body.

I too believe the same can be true for you. You have nice clothing and a great body frame, but it feels like you want to hide it behind loose clothing.
That’s why I suggested tucking in the shirt and adding a belt in the loops, it adds extra glam and in past photos I know you had a belt slightly showing but never fully tucked shirt to show the belt buckle, I forgot if it was black or brown belt, it would look so fab and I do this and it’s a great look for us tall girls
I do like the thinner leg jeans in photo 6 on you better to match and outfit #2 pants. This will show off your natural body shape and show off that white shirt you have on it’s so pretty no need to hide it under anything The shoes in photo 2 go best with the shirt, belt, pants, and jeans I mentioned above.

You have great style and the outfits are nice, I’m just giving some helpful suggestions I hope you will try.

I can see quite a few similarities between your style and that of Kellygirl. You wear casual pieces in a very stylish, polished and purposeful way. Neutral colours are beautiful on you and the white adds a nice crispness to your outfits.

@Synne - I had to Google Kibbe body types - I got into soft dramatic category ( LOL ). I think that's another amusing system of body types-styles. Thank you for pointing me in that direction - I like it a lot .
