Mr. M brought home some large red and yellow peppers. What should we do with them? We had the same idea--stuffed peppers. He went to look at recipes online, while I tried to remember what my Mom had put in her stuffed peppers. They were a favorite of mine, although it's been ages since I cooked them.
I remembered Mom's old cookbook, which she always had. I had put it in a corner of the bookcase and pulled it out. Yes, a recipe, but not the one she used to make, which I think contained leftover ham.
Memories. She kept the cookbook stashed next to our big old tube radio. The copyright date is 1938. You can tell what some of our favorite recipes were. Cake, candy, icebox pudding anyone?
