I have an update on Mom's hair. My original post:

I was able to get her in to my stylist while my bleach was processing a couple of nights ago. I was really glad to be at the appointment, as she wouldn't have gone as bold. She really wanted a drastic change, but when it came down to it, she was too nervous. I finally asked my stylist what he would do, within the limitations of her hair, and knowing her (he has done her hair before, but not recently) if he could do whatever he wanted. Once that was sorted out, all I had to do was convince her to trust him. I wish I had gotten a before pic. Her original part line in front was so thin that I could see her scalp clearly, and the hair around her face was dry, blown out looking blondish highlights. I think that the result is fantastic! He switched the part to the other side, making it look so much thicker, and the cut lifts and highlights her face. My husband, who prefers long hair, actually said this is the best cut Mom has ever had! Mom's husband is still adjusting to it, but I think the can tell that it is really flattering. I think Mom is thrilled, especially after all of the great feedback she got at our Christmas Eve family gathering last night. Thanks so much for all of the wonderful encouragement! She is thinking about keeping up better with her makeup and looking for new glasses now. I think she has turned a corner when it comes to feeling better about herself.
