Such beautiful pictures; your Mom was a lovely lady.

My Mom also had a great influence on my love for clothing. I remember getting dressed up to go downtown to shop at the big department stores. We were never rich, but my Mom always insisted on buying quality, especially "good" shoes.

She will be 78 in a few days and she still dresses fashionably.

Your tribute to your Mom is quite touching. Thank you for sharing.

What a beautiful and stylish lady she was, I see who you're taken after, Janet! I loved her style in all stages of her life. Very touching, thanx for sharing!

Your mom was a stunner! Mostly, what I see in those photos are good times. Man, I almost see myself and my sister in the clothes We pretty much overlap, give or take a few years. What a gorgeous family. ETA: and good news for you--you are going to age REALLY well.

Love these pictures, thank you for sharing... My birthday is coming up next week and I am missing my mother like crazy now...

Aw, thank you, everyone! It's funny, as we age, my sister (10 yrs older than me) is taking on more resemblance to our mom, but I think I'm looking more like our dad. Didn't expect that! But I do still see a resemblance -- especially certain facial expressions, and my hands are undeniably mom's.

Mom looked amazing for her age, even in her final months and days. I would be lucky to age as well as she did! She took very good care of herself.

Thanks for all the kind words. Hugs to all of you who are missing your moms too.

What great pictures! This was so touching, and such a fabulous way to enjoy your great memories!

My mom is the main reason I fell in love with fashion. It plays a huge part in our very close bond: there is no one I rather shop with and I love sitting in her closet seeing what new things she's found. She is the most stylish woman I know, and no one knows my style better. I think she finds true joy in my always-thrilled reaction when she finds me a little something new.

I'm so happy you shared this! I suddenly feel very lucky for the years of Mom style I have to appreciate!

What a beautiful tribute to a very stylish woman.

#12 is such a fantastic photo. Beautiful tribute.

Super pics. I always wonder if it was a big deal going from the hats and gloves of the '50s to the let your hair down '60s. My mother never says.

What a lovely way to remember your mother, Janet. I'm sure that your sister would enjoy seeing this thread too. You have your mother's beauty.
Rachylou, I remember those times and the ladies tried to enforce the hats and gloves while some of us would have nothing of it. When I was in highschool in the early 60's, Eastern Star or something like that had a tea for highschool girls and gloves and hats were required. Some of my friends and I went without the gloves and got disapproving looks. I didn't own any dressy gloves and didn't want to buy something I'd never wear again. Hats got smaller and reduced to a bit of net. I think the big hair styles of the time did the most to discourage hat wearing. It"s hard to wear a hat of any kind over teased bouffant hair.
