What brands/boutiques do you like for modern jewelry? I know about Georg Jensen and Anna Sheffield. I like 18k gold with semi-precious gemstones.

Check out Antonio Bernardo—he has some iconic cuffs from the ‘60s & continues as a modernist today. http://m.loja.antoniobernardo.com.br
Also, H. Stern, for really high-end dreamware.
After that, I’d haunt 1stdibs and other sites for vintage Seaman Scheppes (Sp!!) and Verdura pieces.
If you like discovering the next big name, Instagram has quite a few young artisans—search tags like #ladysmith #turquoiseoverdiamonds etc. Follow a couple of artists & get to know them before making your purchase. I’m a silver hound myself, or I’d give you some IG links.

Lisa, planning to buy a pair or two of earrings and a ring. Total budget of 6k (pooled gifts over the year). I want something that I can wear on a daily basis.

I have a bracelet and necklace of this brand and they are very "sturdy"...I wear them daily and no snagging on clothes, bending out of shape etc.

I am in love with fine jewelry. I usually buy online instead of brick and mortar stores as I have been able to save a ton of money this way. I have also used 3 of these places to make custom pieces for me (Whiteflash , James Allen, and Brain Gavin)

Just wanted to add that you may be able to strike up a great deal if you make multiple purchases through 1 vendor around Valentine's Day. Should be lots of discounts. You just have to ask for a discount and you will be surprised to see how many will give you one. Brick and mortar stores will be less likely to do so since they have much more overhead.

Oh, and Blue Nile is very reputable as well.
