Mod (ish) Tunic WDYT

Hi Ladies,

Apologies for my prolific posting today, but I feel Im in student mode seeking and searching and soaking in all the YLF wisdom on offer:)

This is a Jaqui E tunic I have owned for a number of years. It is a garment that goes on hiatus but always returns. Well it's made it's way to the front of the closet again and I would like your input.

I am aware patterns can add to my frame:). This is an Aline tunic and is not meant to be fitted. I am likely to wear it like this with boots and leggings but will probably add a long jacket as in #2 to minimise the pattern.

Do I have your permission to keep this?

I like it, Deborah, and i can imagine you styling it very well with the other items in your closet!

What is the fabrication? It looks as if it might be a tiny bit stiff? Is that so, or just an illusion from the fact that your hands are in pockets?

Suz, it's a cotton blend so yes it is stiff but not so much so that it doesn't move. Fabrication would be similar to a cotton button down:)

Oh you don't need permission. Its just lovely and so like our Kurtis that are termed as formal and traditional wear in our culture. LOVE AND KEEP. And if you don't like to keep it you can sell it to me when Angie gives us the permission to do so and if that fits me too. LOL.

And yes about fabrication, if thats pure cotton and stiff, it tends to be soft after one wash as I have experienced with our pure cotton kurtis here.

I adore the mod vibe of this tunic, Deborah, and I am all over the tunic + leggings/slim fitting trousers look, I want to wear them all the time.
It looks great with your fab knee-high boots and like the idea of the long jacket (although I don't think it's necessary to cover up the pattern). Flat oxfords, loafers, ballet flats would all work too (maybe with cigarette pants), I think.

Yes, I do! If not with these leggings, then definitely with straight-legged trousers, cigarette pants etc.

I like the pattern and my only reservation is the fabric - I just can't tell in this picture. But if it looks good in person, you should certainly try it with the oxfords!

Definitely keep and wear! I think a structured cropped jacket on top would be fab too.

Diana, thanks for the link to your post. I loved that combination on you. I am going to have a play and see if I can create my own version of your look. What fabric is your tunic?

Deborah, mine is polyester, that sort of slightly satiny feeling poly, with a silky lining, so I think it probably drapes a little more than yours does. It's also cut more like a dress (so slimmer @ the waist).
