My Histeric black/white oxfords arrived today, and when I took them out of the box I noticed right away that the white part looked dingy. It looks like some of the black polish/color has leaked or smudged into the white part.

The shoes fit well and feel comfortable, and I think I like the look, but I'm definitely disappointed in the smudginess. Is this something common that I could take care of with shoe polish if I decided I liked them, or should I send them back and try a different pair? I couldn't find the Fitzwell Justice anywhere in my size (7) and I wasn't sure about the Steve Madden Melins - whether they were chintzy or uncomfortable.

eta: I can't find the black/white Melins in a 7 anywhere anyway.

but I can't pay that much for shoes, especially shoes like these that I won't wear every day.
