Missing necklace angst - fave pieces you've lost over time?

I am weeping because I cannot think where one of my favourite statement necklaces is.

It's been at least 2 months since I saw it and I thought maybe I carelessly chucked it in one of my bags but no, it appears I haven't.

I'm going to have a really good search at home and I really hope I can find it.

I love that necklace!

It's the one in the pic and I've never found anything like it before or since and it is quite sturdy and well made too considering I didn't pay an awful amount for it.

Anyone else have similar angst?

how sad! yes...i have just misplaced a favorite set of diamond hoops. a gift and my absolute favorite earrings. i'm beside myself with worry.

I don't lose things, so much, but I am terrible about breaking my necklaces! Right now I have a string of pearls that needs to be re-strung, and a multi-strand necklace I got at Talbots that is broken in a couple of places and I fear is a lost cause.

I hope you find it. I always panic when I think I have lost something, which unfortunately I'm very prone to since I use public transport.

Luckily a lot of things show up when I least expect them to, so hopefully the same will be true for you and anyone else who has lost anything.

I lost my BR Martin skinnies ages ago. I know they're somewhere in the house because they would only leave the house if I was wearing them...but nevertheless, I haven't seen them in months. Last time I wore them was for my interview that got me my current job. That was in April!

I lost my junior class ring (from HS) on a college hunting trip. It was a really pretty ring but quite large so I had a tendency to take it off when I went to sleep. I think I left it at the hotel but when I checked with them, no one had seen it! I've also lost single earrings - most of them gifts from my mom. I've kept their mates in the hope that they might turn up one day but deep down inside, I know it's pointless.

Maya, LOL! I thought it happens only to me! I am always looking for something - now I cannot find my Kut black jeans!
Tara, I cannot tel you how many jewelery pieces I have lost! I have so many single earrings...it is too sad!
On the other hand if you lose one piece of jewelery it is a great excuse to shop for another one!:-)

What a bummer, Tara. I hope that it turns up. I do this too often. Usually it's because I straight from work to the gym & forget to bring a little bag to keep my jewelry and doodads in, so I stick them in a zippered pocket in my purse, and forget about it. It's amazing how many items get swallowed up by my pockets. Just recently I swapped purses to one that I hadn't used in almost a year and found a $20 casually stuffed inside along with tiny silver earrings. I also have a black long-sleeved layering tee that seems to have been swallowed by the laundry monster - and that's something, considering that I am the only one who lives & does laundry here!

I have lost one of my favourite rings - a great big silver rose which I wore to a wedding and then took it off when I got home, putting it in a safe place so the kids wouldn't get to it, and now I can't find it! Also a pair of blingy hoop earrings that I loved to death, wore them away to a friends place in Brisbane, and got home to find that they were gone. I didn't leave them at her place, so where they've gone I've got no idea.....
I do feel for you!!

Oh, and the doosey of them all - last Christmas I had a life size white reindeer in my Xmas window display, it was a very silver and white blingy display, looked fab. I had put a cubic zirchonia necklace that belonged to my grandmother (who passed away in 1997) on the reindeer's neck, and on Boxing Day got a call from the police to say that my front window had been smashed and the reindeer was gone, along with my grandmother's necklace. Boo!

At first I thought your story was going to just be about how the reindeer was stolen...and I was thinking, "She was really attached to a fake life size reindeer...?" :p

I swear many years ago my house keeper.(back when I had one) stole a skirt to a suit...she had a job interview coming up and I swear to this day she stole it!! among other things I am sure.
Particularly irritated because I was very generous with her and gave her bags of clothes during closet purges!

LOL Maya....no, not particularly attached to the reindeer, just the necklace. Suprisingly that was all they stole, and as I used to work for the local newspaper I contacted them and they did a story about it the following week. and to this day I still get people coming in asking about the reindeer and whether I ever got the necklace back.......

I "lost" my favorite sunglasses for a month and a half recently. Then I found them... in the tool chest. I hope your necklace turns up, too!

Rae, I just found my sunglasses after they went missing (in my ski jacket pocket) for 10 months!

I have at least 5 pendants that I made out of dangly earrings that lost their mates.

I lost my insulated north face grace jacket when shipping it back from studying abroad. I'm still not quite over that loss.
