We leave Thursday for a weekend in Rome on our way to New York and Florida for a family intense holiday. Here is where I am stuck - I need some skirt outfits that I still feel like wearing.

What do you say about #1? I think I will go with the lighter shoes.

This is the outfit I have decided to base the rest of my packing around - yes, more black and white pointy shoes! #2

The kids got haircuts #3!

Rare candid wiw in Jersusalem visiting visiting family last week. Note the RATE bra strap and twisted bag strap. Sigh.

*rubbing hands together* Oooh, these are good, Shevia! I love that midi. It's a skirt, but it still has your stamp on it. I agree with Anna on the high vamped black shoes with it. Your hair still has a lot of darkness and I like the bookend. Love the second outfit! Love the kiddos and seeing you reporting Live On Location. Those slouchy shorts! That wide brimmed hat! Those wayfarers. That nonchalant cross-body. Do you know how cool you are? Seriously. I've gotta go fan myself!

Make that three votes for the high vamped dark footwear in #1. #2 is my favourite outfit! What a great core outfit. Your hair is looking oh- so-stylish.

Love all three outfits on you. I gotta agree with Claire! You look so chic and cool in all of these. I like the folds in the skirt (#1) and in the long khaki shorts (#4).
I prefer the dark shoes in #1, too, and perhaps it's partly because of the bookending Claire noticed. I wouldn't have pinpointed that reason, but it makes sense. My thought was that the black shoes are edgier and give the outfit your eclectic stamp. The lighter ones shift the outfit to a more classic feel. So they both work.

Ok, I am so glad I showed both shoe options. I would really prefer to bring the booties because they work with everything I plan to bring.

I like all the outfits you posted here. I think the lighter shoes look more traditional, and the black high vamped shoes look more current. My vote goes for the black high vamped shoes!

Shevia, you look amazing! LOVE the outfit in #1 -- it looks like a perfect Roman holiday outfit -- chic, understated, cool. I actually like the light shoes for that reason -- summer in Rome. But if you can bring both pair, you'll be set.

Adore your #2 outfit, too. You always look so brilliant! Here, you're dressed in a cheeky homage to Pierrot.

The kids look so beautiful! And love that purple of the Jerusalem top!

So fantastic! Love this collection on outfits and the kids are adorable. I also prefer the darker shoe in #1 (thats a great skirt :)!) and love everything going on in #4.

That powder blue suits you so well and is adorable paired with grey. The lines of both top and skirt complement each other beautifully. Echoing others on the shoes: black is edgier but the blue suits a different mood, a tea and cake and pearls mood.
The black and white are perfect core pieces and I'm envisaging them with the insanely fabulous hat in your candid shot. That photo - your clothes, your stance, your sunnies and that hat - epitomizes casual chic.

Shevia, I LOVE #1. It's a bit dressy, but still tomboy enough to be your style. #2 is pure Shevia and perfect. Your children are adorable in their new haircuts. And I love the photo of you in Jerusalem. Even when you think you're looking disheveled/RATE, you look lovely and fashionable.

I love how well-defined your style is...it's proof that you know yourself well. Enjoy your trip. It sounds wonderful!

Wow! Gorgeous outfit, LOVE it! I don't think you can go wrong with either shoe so I would pick what works with most everything else you are packing and which are more comfortable, but love the white shoes best. Darling kiddos and you look like a model in the last photo! I want your wardrobe.

Suz yes so brilliant that I had to google Pierrot to see exactly what you meant! I found your comment utterly delightful! I also like the light shoes with it, but the dark ones can be worn more places and I am planning to leave room in the suitcase for shopping. Hmm.

I LOVE the proportions in #1!!! And I much prefer the light shoes with that outfit so I am a spanner :). KILLER look. Modern and retro at the same time.

#2 is another 11 out of 10!

And your off guard look in Jerusalem is truly fab. Still the Forever Thrown Together Elegant Tomboy no matter how you slice and dice it

1. I like both sets of footwear for different looks. You do volume so well. I need lessons.

Ridiculously late to this thread Shevia but had to chime in anyway and say your outfits are fantastic (of course!). Outfit #1 reminds me of the Eileen Fisher skirt and top that Angie has posted a few weeks ago.
