Minor Dilemma - which to buy

I have a very strict clothing budget this month of £20.00 and have seen three things which I would like to buy:

1) Trousers for work, theses are desperately needed but this pair do not really make my heart pitter patter and there are very few days in Scotland when it's two warm for wool

2) I love my Aqua blouse so much I'm considering adding another smart casual blouse to my wardrobe (white or yellow)

3) I'm really hopeful of the R&J family having a summer holiday this year, this UO top would be for those sweet summer nights and rare evenings out once we return.

The UO top is very nice! If you don't get it will you have enough to wear on holidays!

When you say you really need work trousers but most days aren't too cold for wool - does this mean this cotton pair wouldn't get much wear?

Thanks Anne, the UO outfitter top would not fill a hole in my wardrobe but I could see it being worn.

Other than six weeks (optimistic as the temperature hear today is only 4 degrees) of summer I would be able to wear the ponti trousers. My current slim fit trousers are a very heavy cotton and are starting to look a little tired.

Trousers- as you have such limited budget yes you need basics but they need to make your heart sing so i'd pass on these, same with the UO top while it's gorgeous if it doesn't fill a hole and won't get worn much I'd pass. I say get the gorgeous blouse x

UO outfitter top can wait, if you have a tight budget invest in pieces you can wear everyday.

Can't decide between the blouse and the pants. If you have other black pants for work, go for the blouse.

Oh, I love the UO top.! I would not buy anything that you did not love. The blouse is lovely but the floral top reminds me most of you.

I'm going to be the fuddy duddy here and say that if you desperately need trousers, then that is what you should probably invest in this month.

Oh no! Decisions, decisions.

I want you to get option #2 - the pretty pastel blouse. Just because you'll feel more like your style is refreshed with that top than with a pair of black pants. But I know that you really need the black pants because for work, you have to cover your body art in Summer with slacks . Hmmm. Can you go another month wearing the slacks you have, Julie? How about a skirt and boots? I know it's Spring, but I'm trying to be creative so that you can get the blouse :0)

1 or 2. Though 2 would be more fun to purchase. Maybe get 1 over with and then you can start concentrating on the prettier purchases from now on. : )

This is a tough call R&J!!! Do you know what you're going to get? For me it would depend how badly the pants need replacing, and if I think this is the perfect pair to replace them with and I wouldn't find others.

Hmm, I'm voting #2. It's the most versatile and very pretty. I'd rather you wait and get something better considering these are a staple for you, and wool is totally wrong for this time of year. #3 is pretty but not as versatile as #2.

If you could find a different pair of trousers at the right price, I would get those though.

I vote #2 too. When you're on a tight budget you have to LOVE every piece you add to your wardrobe!

I've come up with an option four out of necessity. I will not buy anything this month and buy a better pair of nicely draping trousers next month. Dash, sometimes I hate being practical!

Fingers crossed the blouse will be there next month also.
