I understand that political discussions are not encouraged here. I am not trying to start a debate nor am I interested in one. Minneapolis is our closest large US city, and one that Winnipeggers consider a sister city. We are similar in politics, size and sensibility. I have been there many times . Everyone I know is horrified, scared and feeling helpless for our US friends there. Please know your Canadian supporters are a huge group . We do care.

Our son and his fiancee lived in Minneapolis for several years, and they loved it. At Christmas they were talking about moving back some day. Even the weather wasn’t a deterrent! We visited in October one year. I mentioned how cold it was. Someone said, yes, it’s fall.

Thank you, Lisa. I live in St. Paul, and it's like we're living in a war zone. It's heartbreaking and terrifying and traumatizing - I never thought I would live through something like this, ever. The silver lining is that the trauma has brought our community together in an incredible and beautiful way - neighbors helping neighbors across the Twin Cities. My aunt lives in Minneapolis, and DH and I have spent significant time there. Each time I see the images on the news, I am horrified, as I was recently there, walking the same blocks where this is happening. I will reiterate the same sentiments as Janet and Sarah: it is horrifying, heartbreaking and traumatizing.

We went canoeing in the Boundary Waters in Minnesota the past two summers. It's such a great state and I am so sad at the atrocities and the coverup/gaslighting and horrified at the fascist dystopian nightmare we are living in.
