I've gained some weight recently. Just one size worth. Unfortunately, that means that some of my clothes don't work anymore. Like most of my shorts from last summer. I work at a produce stand, with no air conditioning; so I need summer clothes to avoid death from heat exhaustion at work in the Texas heat.

Apparently, some of y'all are rubbing off on me or menopause is making me crazy because this is what I ordered. A bunch of what I'd call "basics" in a bunch of soft colors. Pale pinks, natural linen colors, soft blue, grey... Yes, a lot of them are not structured (rather pajama-ish) but as long as my butt and bewbs aren't hanging out of my clothes the boss is OK with pretty much whatever I wear.

As I'm sitting here thinking about how "basic" some of these garments are, I'm wondering how on earth I ever survived last summer with no more shorts than I found earlier today when I tried them on for work tomorrow (the only ones that still fit are the ones I've worn to death already this summer). I seriously wore a lot of skinny jeans to work last summer, and that probably explains why I stayed so exhausted and feeling like crud all summer.

I don't know if it's the antidepressants causing me to want to wear softer colors, or if it's this crazy Texas heat, or if I'm starting to go through menopause, or what... But I'm OK with it. I know that personal style is constantly evolving, and that when (what passes for) winter rolls around, my shredded sweaters and moto jeans and other dystopian minimalist accoutrements will be there in my closet waiting for me to grab them to stay warm and go chop wood or shoot a bow and arrow or something LOL

I did also recently acquire these two pairs of shoes in the finds. I'd been looking for a two piece ankle bootie for a while, and while this one from Shelly's London isn't really a two piece, it's INTERESTING and it has that same gap in the shaft where elastic gores would normally be on a chelsea bootie. I also got these Lucky sandals for wearing to work because it gets really hot at work and I want my feet to be able to get some air!

Anyway, thank you all for being such a diverse group of fashion & style junkies that have opened my mind to the possibilities of softer colors and clothes that haven't been stabbed or shot LOL, because I am excited for these clothes to get here next week!
