Mini Capsules-Bag/Scarf/Bootie(shoe)

Angie's post today really inspired me! I think this is the best way for me to plan my outfits in the future as I have tons of scarves and it so simple...gotta love that. Anyway, I took a few of my newest scarves and made mini capsules and to complete the look I can add top, bottom and outer layer, done!

1-6 are capsules using my new Sam Edelmann booties and 7-9 are with other flats I hope to wear more this fall.

Is the purse in 3 to light for fall? and is 6 and 9 to bright?

Fun! I'm happy to see someone else do this as well. I think it's an awesome idea to pre-plan for the season to come. Not sure on the purse in #3, I'm by no means an expert! Love the bag in #1/7

EDIT: ooh, and the scarf in #9! I do see warm and cool tones mixed in a few of them with the cool booties and a warm beige bag - not sure about that, but once again, not an expert in that area

I'm loving this, and I'm tempted to run to my closet to get some experimenting done myself!-)
I love all the combinations, Carole, I don't mind brights for colder weather, so those are a thumbs up for me. And I remember Angie saying that a cream bag can be worn all year round, so you have 9 winners here if you ask me.

It's exciting to think that we have so so many possible SBB complements sitting right there in our closets!

WOW! This is amazing. Love the combos! What a great inspiration...I loved Angie's post but I wouldn't have thought to do what you did...Bravo!

and #3 is not too light, nor #6 and #9 too bright. It all depends on what you wear as your base. I like dark bottoms and a grey top to subdue my brightest colors. For example, I wear my neon pink cardi with black jeans and a grey tshirt.

Mo- Thanks for your observations, I guess I need to rethink the warm/cool mixtures...I guess I was thinking the boots were just "neutral" and didn't think of them in terms of being cool, good point

Kim-I will look forward to your capsule pictures, soon, please? and the cobalt booties will be fun to play with!

Inge-Thanks for the thumbs up! It was a fun little exercise and not overwhelming like creating a bunch of capsules with everything included, I like this abbreviated version!

Geargirl-Thanks for the tips on toning down bright colors, I always like to keep everything else pretty plain and neutral when I have a jolt of color or pattern.

Carole, these are awesome! You have a great scarf collection. I like the way you are combining grey booties with a camel bag, too. I think it's a super sophisticated color combination and one I want to try too. Love the cream bag as well, even for fall. Why not, right?

Chuckling, because I just finished doing the same - great minds think alike - you should see my bedroom floor

I don't think #3 is too light for fall. The dark handles make it very transition-able.

#6 looks the most spring/summer to me. #9 is not too light! I love that peacock feather scarf -- have the same one in teal going on 2-3 years now and it's still a favorite.

p.s. since burgundy is very "in" this year, imagine a burgundy bag with #9. Hmmmm ...

I love this idea, I have many scarves and shoes but only a couple purses...might have to change that

I want to do a set in my closet, could add a whole new dimension to my outfits

What a gorgeous set of still lives! This is a fantastic idea. And I'll bet if I tried to do this it would put some of my wardrobe angst to rest. I will need to wait for a few new bags, however...not owning anything but a black bag at this moment!!

Love your purple handbag! So pretty. I love all of these combos but especially 1,4,6,7,8,9!--okay I love them all. You have quite the enviable scarf collection!

Ooh, I love this.. I will have to do this myself too. I haven't pulled my scarves out in awhile. Without realizing it until now, I od think in similar mini-capsules--- but often shoes aren't in it -- coats are! That is what happens when your main go-to coat is cobalt.

Everything looks fabulous together - yes, that purse works; I'd wear it year round. And no 9 is not too bright! I love your colors. This exercise seems to be a good pointer towards color capsules too, no?

Claire- I'm glad you like the camel and gray combo, I was thinking maybe I had made a mistake combining cool and warm colors together...sometimes this gets too complicated for my simple ways.

Laura- I see what you mean about the spring summer affect of 6, guess I should save that for next year...hmm burgandy....I like the way you think.

Shiny-good point about coats as a jumping off point. When putting these together I was thinking of all the different jackets and cardi's I could use to complete the outfits, but the bag scarf bootie shoe concept really simplified it for me.

I like all of these for fall, even #3 with the white bag and I adore the greys and camels mixed together. I'm realizing my capsule(s) would have lots of scarves but very little bags and shoe variety, especially with color. This shows the power of colored accessories, I'm taking notes to look for more colored bags and shoes for my next shopping trip.

Lisa, thanks! I have so many neutrals and no pattern in my closet so having a colorful bag, shoe or scarf makes all the difference.

Beautiful assortment, and so helpful in training my eye to better combinations. I have great scarves, my shoe collection is improving (but needs to keep moving forward), but my bags......oh dear, my bags. Should I even begin?

Beth Ann-thanks, and yes, do begin. I think my purple MK bag was one of my first purchases after joint YLF, I had a boring bag collection, just the basic black and brown, blah! It's amazing how much bang for the buck you can get from a great bag, seems to elevate most any outfit!
