I don't agree with her about Skinceuticals and especially LaRoche Posay. I wear both under my makeup on many times just on its own. Once well absorbed I do not see any whitish cast.

I have watched "hotandflashy's" videos and notice that she does not allow sufficient time for lotions, serums, etc to be absorbed into the skin before going to the next step.

Oh I completely agree with her review of the CeraVe Face Lotion Invisible Zinc SPF 50 . "The Worst ~ Completely Unwearable"

MyChelle Replenishing, rated unwearable, has been great for me all spring, even under a little foundation. No problems with another option, Stream2Sea, and both are mineral based, cruelty free, and reef safe.

I think it has a lot to do with skin type. I love the Josie Maran and so does my daughter but we both have dry skin. The Etude House Sunprise Airy Finish Sunscreen SPF 50+ PA+++ is too drying for me. But it is a list of many mineral sunscreens to try.

I live in Florida most of the year, and find the Josie Maran terrific! It is light, sinks in, and has a very faint pleasant smell, which is good because I am allergic to most perfumes. I do use Banana Boat Baby Face mineral sunscreen on body though, as the sun here is killer!

I like DRMTLGY. Anything with Zinc Oxide, IMO, starts with a white cast, but this one absorbs pretty well.

I've been using Josh Rosebrook with zinc oxide (non-nano). It's hideously expensive; so also use Goddess Gardens Face the Day SPF 30 with zinc (non-nano). Neither leave a white cast on me, although I am fair. If I wear one of these I skip moisturizer.

I’m a fan of Cerave also. If it leaves a whitish cast I don’t notice it, maybe because my skin is fairly light?

The main thing about sunscreen: you have to use enough of it for it to be effective! For me, that rules out anything expensive, because I'll hesitate to use a larger dollop for my face and chest if the 1.5 oz tube is, say, $40. (I wear sunscreen daily.) I don't have a holy grail product, but the EltaMD mineral sunscreen is my 'good enough' daily product. (The EltaMD 7.5% Octinoxate, 7.0% Zinc oxide sunscreen is my favorite affordable effective sunscreen ever, but it isn't all-mineral so...)

I follow Angie's YouTube channel and really like her. She does research on her recommendations and is honest about why products work for her. She has different skin than me and wears more make up. I like La Roche Posay untinted and Clinique Mineral which she recommends for others. I tried the Australian Gold that she recommended but I don't like tinted products.

We have different needs. I am curious about the powder sunscreen that some of the dermatologists sell.

Hmm I'd definitely want tinted so it would match my skin and not look white, but those Australian gold ones look more like tanning lotions from a quick look.

I have to rescind or at least edit my recommendation of Mychelle Replenishing because now that we're farther into the sunny weather , I realized I"m getting a little burned!

I'm outside with the dog for about an hour, well before 10, and yet this formulation seems to be not quite enough protection. I'm going to try Badger Broad Spectrum SPF 35 which has multiple seals of approval including cruelty free and is a "sport" formula.

If that's not enough, my next choice might be Whole Foods spray sunscreen, SPF 50, which is highly recommended by a very fair friend with extremely sensitive skin.

I guess YMMV. I love the CeraVe product. I mix it with a teeny bit of primer if I am going to wear foundation. If not, I mix it with tint drops.

I use the EltaMD (tinted) both under makeup and on its own if I’m just lounging around the house. When I am outside being active (running, hiking, climbing), I use the Australian Gold Botanical (also tinted). I find the Australian Gold to be quite thick and can see why she wouldn’t recommend it under makeup, although I haven’t tried wearing it that way. It is the only thing I’ve found so far that doesn’t sweat off though, so I love it for that.
