I read Imogen and don't readily recall the jacket. I'm surprised because she often talks about matching something about your physicality - for example, she has high shine skin. And she seems very smooth of skin and hair and hairstyle to me and this jacket is very rough and uneven textured. If you successfully wear high texture items, then I think this would be great.

Anne, how funny, I was looking at this very jacket last night on the Metalicus website, but I keep telling myself I don't need another black jacket lol.

I think this could work very well for you. The fabric is lovely. I tried on the coat version of this and it was gorgeous. It has a touch of stretch to it as well which I find adds to the comfort level. You have the versatility of wearing it open or closed which creates slightly different looks. You can be assured of the quality and I am guessing it can probably be washed in the machine as most Metalicus items can. Or at least hand washed.

Just on Vildy's point, while the jacket is textured, IRL it looks quite polished.

I would encourage you to definitely try this one.

Deborah, thanks for the thorough answer. I like the combination of cropped, structured and comfortable. Very encouraging! I went to the Metalicus near my work yesterday, but they didn't have the jacket, which is why I posted about it.

And I only have one other black jacket - my moto pleather one, which I don't think is suitable for wearing to work Mon - Wed (as opposed to casual Fri) so I think one more is ok. It would have to work with my midi pencil skirts.

Deborah, did you end up finding out about the Motto jacket? I won't get both - it'd be either/or.

Anne I forgot to get back to you.. sorry!! Unfortunately the jacket from Motto is sold out. The Metalicus jacket is almost sold out to, so you need to hurry (no pressure). Only a few stores have it, and it is sold out on line. If you phone a store that has it, you can do the purchase over the phone and they will post to you ($10.00 shipping). There return policy is excellent and if it's not suitable, you can return to your local store. For your info re sizing, I usually wear a S/M or a Size 2 in their jackets.

Oh well. Turns out they are sold out around the country. That's ok. I can function without without one - it is a "nice to have" not "have to have". Will save up for next winter and buy for winter earlier than August!

Robina Store 07 33504861 has a S/M

If you are after the XS/S then the Miranda store should have one, Myer Melbourne, DFO Moorabbn, DFO South Wharf all have one.

I can get those numbers if you need them.

No worries! I rang the stores that were showing up on line as having it.

Size wise Metalicus can run small. What size do you normally wear in a jacket?

Lyn D and Deborah. I went to the city shop today and she looked it up for me and said that despite those shops saying they had some in their inventory, she know from experience that they really don't (which is what I was told on the phone). She is going to call me if one gets returned.

I appreciate the work you did Deborah, and the size info Lyn. It is only recently (thanks to you two) that I have even got up the courage to go into a Metalicus shop, so I'm making progress!

Don't be put off by the prices, most pieces can be stalked and bought at less than half price if you persist
