Kind of fun thinking about a clean slate, but would be work to find, fit and pay for all at once! For one week:
1. Jeans. Dark, slim.
2. Knit tops for weekends, interesting color, feature or texture, long or 3/4 sleeved, fitted enough to wear under topper. (2)
3. Cardigans or knitted toppers, probably gray or dark, to wear over knit tops. Perhaps one to be black V-neck pullover. (2)
3. Running clothes and shoes. Shorts, tights, short and long sleeved wicking shirts, sports bras, socks, outer layer jacket or heavier wicking top.
4. Work pants. Black slim, navy slim, black straight leg. (3)
5. Work tops. Dark-bright, solid or patterned long or 3/4 sleeve thin sweaters. (5)
6. Work top. One dressy white blouse or soft layering sweater.
6. Work toppers, blazers or jackets. Warm, coordinate with tops, textured, with interesting features (accent trim, asymmetrical, buttons, etc.) (5)
7. Shoes. Cons or leather sneakers, black flats, and black low-heeled mary jane pumps. (3)
8. Accessories: a few different scarves, bracelets, and a couple of necklaces to mix and match with all of the above. Gloves to match coats.
9. Coats. One medium weight trench coat. One lined olive or bark color nylon or twill utility jacket long enough to cover all toppers. One colorful warm fleece jacket, perhaps orange or rust.
10. Undergarments and socks.
If I doubled all this, it would work for the whole cool-cold season, I think. Throw in at least 3 red sweaters or toppers (for basketball games) and I would need nothing else.
Thanks for the thought provoking post and answers. It shows me a path to follow on the season-changing purge coming up.
