Melissa McCarthy Style Inspo

I've been watching God's Favorite Idiot on Netflix. Melissa McCarthy's character has a sort of uniform for the office that I find really interesting. It's a blouson sleeve blouse, wide tie, and high waisted wide leg pants. She does a lot of pattern mixing and themed prints. It would be a bit much for a literal inspiration, but it does make me want blouson sleeve blouses.
I've also been watching Melissa McCarthy's home renovation show with her cousin Jenna- The Great Give Back. She has a quirky sense of syle that I am really enjoying.
Anyone else getting inspiration from her?

There's probably some of the pieces still floating around on resale/secondhand sites if any of it really appeals! I feel like she had some pieces that were similar to these shapes.

I've always liked her style. When I was a size 5x, dressing was challenging because of the lack of choices. I had a similar office uniform -- except there were fewer pretty options 20 years ago. I love her palette and her fearlessness in trying different looks. I think she also knows what looks good on her. I've noticed she usually emphasizes her waist and hourglass shape.

Oh, I do like the style. I like those sleeves a lot! The silhouette appeals to me, and the pattern-mixing is super fun. The tie is quirky, and I like how it kind of reins in the frill and adds a not-so-serious business nod.

Jenn, I like those wrap dresses on the Instagram, too.

How fun! I need to check out both these shows. I had several Melissa McCarthy pieces and loved them all. These two are left, the black top I wore the heck out of and now I’m holding on to because it’s a great cut and such nice soft material if a little worn. I don’t even wear this silhouette right now, but things could change. The skirt is just a delight and I need to wear it more.

She’s great! Also, I like blouson sleeves—voluminous and not in the way! The pattern on that second one is great, as is the shoulder puff on the red one. I’ve been thinking about wearing (my dad’s) ties, will have to tuck this idea away.

I watched that series! I wish there was more. It isn't the kind of show I would usually like...actually would usually avoid...but something about it hooked me and I watched all of the first short season.

Lol I knew I'd seen that tie somewhere. I think the whole cast of Barny Miller had that tie.
