I promised on a couple threads to post some pictures. I think these demonstrate I am sure how medieval/fantasy has long been part of my style.

First set is from my wedding in 2001. I sported a pixie cut and wore contact lenses almost exclusively. I wanted a dress that looked medieval, so I bought a bolt of oyster coloured dupioni silk and took a pattern to a dressmaker and had it made. I made the headpiece myself.

1. With my grandparents (now deceased) and my husband. He looks completely different now, as he shaves his head! We look so young!

2. Pixie cut I had for a couple of years. I think I donned and doffed that headpiece and veil about 5 times over the course of the afternoon as people kept wanting to take pictures of it!

3. Full-length dress shot. The dress had a kind of integral train with big origami pleats that kind of collapsed on the sides. It was pretty cool.

4. The last photo is my hallowe'en costume from 2004. I LOVED being Aragorn, and in fact, this was the second time I have been Aragorn for hallowe'en (first time was Strider when I was 8 years old).
