Thanks all. I do hope you enjoy it as much as I did. McQueen is such an amazing source of inspiration, and this catches him at his most beguilingly demonic.
Rachylou, I can’t begin to explain the brutal dynamics of London’s class warfare that produced an artist of McQueen’s caliber. I can, however, turn it into an epic of urban fantasy fiction….
Bijou, not sure I could chose a favorite, because he covered so much ground in such a short time, and pushed the boundaries of what was possible. Those last two, Horn of Plenty and Plato’s Atlantis still blow me away though. This is not fashion. This is high art.
And then he was gone.
Shevia, you know, after all these years I am still kicking myself for missing out on the Vogue patterns, which came out at about the same time, when I wasn’t doing much of that kind of sewing. That suit though. I look at it and think, eh y’know, maybe €900 is not that much… Who knows. Maybe it will just turn up one day, like Bijou’s Bao Bao purse. Hopefully, posting a picture won’t jinx it.
