I am not calling my wide leg pants mistakes. Even though I have worn the olive ones3 times ant the beige ones 2 times, they will get a little more wear this fall. I just like wearing utility pants and cargos more.. Comments from photos welcome. The black crops are too short, and this outfit was a miss.. This was on a trip. This was a lesson in try before packing.........

I understand what you are feeling. I too have a few wide leg pants, have worn them, but now I have a couple pairs of cargo pants and I reach for them over and over, kinda neglecting the wide legs.

I'm not into wide legs either . Which reminds me I *should* wear the pair of wide leg crops I bought last fall at least once this fall before giving up on them . Why do I fall for these stupid trends? That one did not last .

try a more fitted, or shorter top with the wide legs. Plus, with respect, I don't think it is a stupid trend. Not everything works for everyone. Bury me in my 20 year old Anne Klein wide legs.

You look great in the wide legs! FWIW, I AM seeing them in the Big City. Styled with flats with ankle straps, loafers, and booties (low heeled and short) and topped by full, swingy, short jackets.

Where is the Big City Carla? You keep saying that. Is it Toronto? I've only been to the airport there and the US border control officials were really awful... I was struggling on my own with 2 big suitcases ( in 2003) and they made me feel like a criminal.

And Lisap, do you have a very fast wardrobe turnover? You always look very trendy but is that at the expense of a lasting wardrobe? Does everything only last a couple of years before you move on?

I think the olive wide leg outfits look great!

Even if a “ trend” aligns with something that works for me, it still can be a matter of finding just the right version. High-waist, wide leg bottoms ( with pleats!) can really work but I’ve found I need either just the right culotte type style OR a full length pant, and not TOO wide. I did not come across anything just right for summer, and that was ok.

I invested heavily in the wide legged trend in 2017. I invested despite having a love of slim fitting bottoms. I thought the wide legged pants would be better suited to my climate. So far, so good.

Wide legged flowy pants make me look two full sizes larger than my other pants. I had to make peace with that.

FWIW I agree with unfrumped, I like the olive wide legs and white top. Personally I love fashion and trends but if I enjoy something I just wear it and don't worry too much if its "current" or not. I notice as I get older I am dressing more and more "for myself". It may be color, style, trying trends that interest me, etc. So if you like it wear it, if you are unsure ask others you trust, or "back to the drawing board" I always say ;-).

The second outfit looks fabulous. Good length on those wide crops.
