So far so good!

I am laughing so hard over the kids who keep us accountable. My caution to you all is NEVER put a pre-teen boy in charge of recycling at home. Mine started it as a school project (they had to tabulate the amount of recycling vs trash that their family used - this is Berkeley you know) and ever since has been the recycling cop of our house. It's good but sort of annoying sometimes.
I will not tell my kids about the challenge!

On a fun note, I had a little swap today - gave away a bunch of DD's outgrown clothes to a mom from school and we had lunch at her house. We had decided to donate all the stuff neither of us wanted to Goodwill. I was looking through her boxes and found sweet vintage brown snakeskin pumps! She does not fit in them and not her "lifestyle" so she gifted them to me. Nice! Found some t shirts for DD too.

Sorry it's cold Isabel - so weird that we had the cold weather on West Coast when you all had early spring and now it's flipped again. Permission to do something toasty inside

If only our teenagers cared so much about keeping their rooms clean!!!

Christieanne, swapping with friends is so much fun. The pumps sound gorgeous.

I bought two things off the internet last night (one cheap accessory and one skirt i had my eye on that went on sale) so now i feel sated and I am ready to utilize my closet to it's full potential!

My mom used to tell me that university acceptance committees would do random room checks - that's how she got me to clean my room until grade 11 when I realized that wasn't true :p

Oooohh...I have to start using that line lyn - but he's already in Grade 11. Am I too late???

Way to go Nicole - shop until that last second - I love it!

Have I mentioned you all are THE BEST???!!!

So... here we are on just the second day of the shopping ban and i am at a crossroads...

#1 the reset button fell off of my running watch this morning. Do I *need* a running watch... I think so since I track my runs by time and I run 5 or 6 days a week. DH has an extra watch now that he got a Garmin GPS watch so I could use his other one but it has an altimeter and a number of other features which make it huge and heavy.

#2 the green leather bag dye & sew project... (that one that is supposed to be keeping me busy so I dont shop online at night) i just used the whole first bottle of dye and it is not usable yet. I need another bottle. Do I have to sit on this until June or do I break down and order?

I am thinking one day in and already I want to buy things! What do you think ladies? Can I make an exception for unforeseen circumstances like these?

I am late to the game... but I am hopping on this brilliant bandwagon. I need to develop restraint! argh!! LOL. $5 for thrifting seems a brilliant outlet. I do need a new watchband tho; mine broke. I hope that doesn't count.

Yesterday I was out all day shopping for things for the wedding and I didn't stop at Winner's once! (and I was near at least 3 of them) It's kind of a relief not "needing" to shop and I got more wedding things done, so yay for me! I guess it's kind of cheating because I have a distraction... (the wedding) It will be good to just shop my closet, because I have alot of things I really like that I haven't worn yet, although some are needing some slight adjustment (mainly slimming the bottom of cropped pants) that I won't have time for until after the wedding. Now, if we could just get our sunshine back!

Sarah and Rachylou - in my opinion, your expenditures are valid and don't really apply to this.

Jem - 3 Winners and no buying? Wow - now that's restraint!

I know! I have never entered Winners and NOT exited with purchases. Usually several items. Can't resist. To its credit, I've enjoyed every piece I've purchased there - and they usually get compliments. Can't say that about other stores! Must stay far away for now!
