BareMinerals Complexion Rescue hydrating gel cream (Sephora)
Great texture, horrible color on me. Returned. This only uses titanium dioxide as sunscreen so it’d be a good tinted moisturizer option for anyone who’s sensitive to chemical sunscreens.

Laneige water bank serum (Target)
This is the morning equivalent of the water bank mask I mentioned in my last set of reviews, and so far I really like it. I put it on after washing my face, before makeup, and it absorbs nicely and doesn’t interfere with my foundation.

Josie Maran argan oil light (Sephora)
Only tried a sample packet of this, but after hearing so much about it for years I was a little underwhelmed. It was very heavy-feeling, especially since it was the lighter formulation. Smelled good, moisturizing, but took a long time to soak in.

Body Shop ginger scalp care shampoo
So The Body Shop had a sale in April and I thought I’d try a couple things; I haven’t bought anything from them in a long time. The ginger shampoo is supposed to help with scalp itch and dryness. I don’t get flakes enough to justify a full-on dandruff shampoo but my scalp does get itchy sometimes. This is a nice clarifying shampoo that also doesn’t super-strip your hair like most dandruff shampoos do. It smells very strongly of ginger, which could be good or bad depending on your preferences - I kinda felt like a Chinese stir-fry.

Body Shop vitamin E overnight serum-in-oil
This stuff is really nice. It comes in an opaque dropper bottle and is a light-feeling face oil. It absorbed quickly on me and did seem to help with dry patches as well as general moisturizing. Despite the name, I’d use this under makeup in the AM if I really needed to amp up the moisturizing for a day, as well as in the evenings. The only downside for me, and it’s a big one, is the smell: I’m not sure what it is, maybe roses? But it reminds me of cold cream and elderly grandmas, and it’s strong. I felt like I was preparing myself to go into the nursing home the next day, and it was hard to ignore.

Garnier Fructis Style Marvelous Oil Deep Nourish 5-Action Hair Elixir (drugstore)
This was an impulse buy. I’ve always had good luck with Garnier products, but I’m not quite sure how to use this. It can be used as a pretreatment before washing, a leave-in conditioner on wet hair, or a smoothing treatment on dry hair. So far I’ve tried a few options and like it most used on my ends before shampoo, but honestly I could use almost anything for that, including straight olive or coconut oil. So not a disappointment but not something I've really found a role for yet.
