Those are some pretty great boots.
I saw a pair of Dries van Noten ankle boots at a thrift store once with amazing brocade fabric uppers. They were too big for me. I'm still sad about that. They were somehow dramatic, a bit grunge, a bit feminine, all at once, and I could easily picture them toned down with boyfriend jeans. The Spring Step boots remind me a bit of them.
Fluevogs are in the same vein for me, but I can never quite embrace the drama, preferring androgynous minimalism in my shoes. One of these days...
