I thought I'd post a brief update on my kitty.

Yesterday morning he seemed worse -- still hiding in his most inaccessible hiding spot, very lethargic, not eating. He came out around noon and seemed very poorly to me, so I decided to take him in for blood work.

The vet examined him again and saw no physical problems, except for a slightly lower than normal temperature. She ran the blood work. She gave him his second dose of pain meds.

I got him home -- and almost right away, he started to improve. He ate his food, groomed himself, started seeking company instead of hiding. And he has continued to improve ever since.

He still has the "twitches" in his back. It could be feline hyperesthesia syndrome. Or there could be some underlying cause that the pain medication is helping to mask. We will get the labs back today. In the meantime, I'm just so relieved that he is almost 100% himself again. Playing, alert, purring, seeking company, eating and drinking.

Thanks for your wise counsel and good wishes. I'll keep you posted.
