march or the toy soldiers, or a cute jacket?

So I was cruising the mall today looking for a shirtdress (none to be found) and tried on this jacket in Charlotte Russe. It is a bit shinier than the picture appears, and I immediately thought of the march of the toy soldiers. I took the pic more for chuckles than anything. Then I came home to take pics of some things I bought at ON yesterday and comparing the pictures, I hated everything I got yesterday, but then when I scrolled to this picture it caused me to stop and take a second look. I'm not even going to post the pics of my ON purchases (well maybe a couple) but what do you guys think of this jacket. It's a bit hard to tell because my arm is up. But my thought is that the look of the jacket seems to wear better on me than the cardigan from ON.

I swear, in the dressing room everything looked great yesterday, but today I feel completely frumpy in all of it (I won't even post the pics of the plaid shirtdress- it looks like a granny gown)

thoughts, comments, assessments? Do I need to stay away from the long cardigan look? or just look for a better quality one? does the graphic tee look like I stepped off of a cruise ship to Mexico?

This made me laugh bc I have a jacket my husband refers to as my 'Sergeant Pepper jacket' from Forever 21. I think the lines of this jacket are strong (as are mine) and it is obvious you are more drawn to it than the ON items. I don't think the ON things are bad at all, but I do like the jacket a bit more on you. Hope that helps!

I like the jacket. I also like the long cardigan, open rather than buttoned. The graphic t I think is a bit too much contrast with sweater, and the crew neck style might not be best for you.

I think the cardi may be a little big, also the tee shirt and jeans aren't the best indicators for the boyfriend cardi...it should work for you, just not in this outfit.

The color is beautiful on you So don't give up yet.

I like the jacket too. Very cute. I like the idea of the cardi, but it looks a bit too big for you. I am not particularly drawn to that t-shirt though, I think you can do so much better.

I like the jacket although I think I would like it better without the ruffles around the hem. It makes it a little too cutesy in my opinion but I do think it fits you really well.

thanks all of you for your critiques-- the ON stuff went back yesterday and I decided to hold off on a jacket for now. I really want something in a color other than black. I did find a cute brown flyaway cardigan at Target yesterday. I"m gonna try it with a few things and post pics later for everyones yay or nay.
