March has been a shopping month

I have been on a shopping spree in March.

After two months without shopping (and very little from September to December) I have bought quite a few things - and have some more in mind.

- two pairs of denim, one wide leg and one slim straights.
- a pair of cream ankle boots
- black satin top
- black pants - barrel leg?
- satin slip skirt

I have also had fun making up some capsules in finds based around autumn and winter toppers.

I don't need much more this season - keen for a shirt and have found this one (see photo) that I am considering. I think it would be great with navy, red and black work pants and blue and cream denim.

I also would like a new knit, not sure what colour - or style - or price range.

I would also like something bright and cheerful as I seem to be adding more subdued colours. Maybe a red sweatshirt for weekend wear would be just the ticket?

Then I think/hope I will be set up for winter....

Nice new pieces! I think a red sweatshirt would work well in your wardrobe. I get a fair bit of use from mine.

Good looking everything! Finding jeans you like is a struggle, so congratulations. Funny, I was also thinking about a red sweatshirt this past week. I have a red zip front hoodie that I like a lot, but I'd apparently like a pullover version too. Dark red, with no orange in it.

Great shopping, Sal! All the pieces are beautiful and very "Sal". I like them all and would wear them all in a heartbeat. A special mention for the satin skirt (my type of skirt, long and slim) and the fabulous cream booties. I encourage you to get the red sweatshirt. Now I am curious to see you sport your new purchases.

Lovely new additions. I especially like the ivory boots. I have two pairs of ivory boots (one with a square heel and one combat style) and they both get lots of wear, very easy to pair into outfits. A red sweatshirt sounds like a fun future addition!

Angie - 80s and 90s!! My red pants have a tinge of rust - I might create a column of red but I think it will be hard to get the undertones harmonious.

Slimcat - I suit true red or tomato red - and I like a raglan sleeve sweatshirt not a drop shoulder..... I would also consider coral or lilac - or yellow - something cheerful to wear with jeans on an easy weekend day or night.

Sisi - I bought the skirt to wear with my long blazer and a black top (or ivory top) for more dressy occasions. I think I could wear it more casually too and it might work the right sweater.

Thanks - I am yet to wear the black trousers and slip skirt. The others have all had at least one wear.

I think because retail is struggling here that neutrals are even more popular.... since December three local boutiques have closed - there has been one new one open - and two closed last year.

That leaves me with two locally owned boutiques (fitting my tastes) plus a couple in small neighbouring towns. I am not their largest customer but that is my first choice.....We do have a couple of NZ designer stores as well plus a variety of chain/mall/high street brands, some Australian and some NZ.

Oh, I love the new cream boots and the dramatic pants! Those are especially fab, but all your new items look good. I like the idea of a bright sweatshirt for you - -it has crossover appeal.

I got a red sweatshirt this fall and it has proved to be a workhorse, especially with my accident, since it is a zip thru style.

Yes I can see that working well for you Suz, full zips can be really useful! Wearing the black pants today for the first time - I was deciding on sizes and went with the smaller one as I have a habit of buying pants a size big and then not liking the volume at the waist. So they don't look quite as dramatic on me.... But that's good.

I often wear a sweatshirt at home at nights, to and from yoga or pickleball, or with jeans at the beach. I like the patagonia grey one and the stripe one - the red fleece is very much utilitarian and I only wear it gardening or walking etc.. It's a good colour, but not a good shape on me.
