Maniacally obsessed with trenches: this Burberry?

This one really is catching my eye in light of my recent lesson on fit issues:

I love the collar, and the fact that it has a waistline built in. The color is a concern, but the shape is like my old trench that I loved dearly. I'm willing to save up and use part of my oil $ in October for a lifetime piece like this. Anyone care to browse Burberry and see what you like that might work for me in the London or Brit styles?

The detachable collar might be nice, but I am more attracted to something like this;

After looking at all the coats, I think the difference is the length on this coat. I like the slightly longer length better, and I think it is more appropriate for more occasions.

That may be Elle's coat and wow, it's stunning. I am only 5'1" so length is usually not a problem unless it's too long...

Oh, WOW. That is amazing. I think the color would be a lot like my old caramel trench, so I think it would work on you.

Yes, that's on my list too, and also the olives. I could just do black, but would rather have a military color of some sort. Plus I have the black winter one. Argh. Trench season will be over by the time I figure this out. Good to know about the color working on you.

Man, I love them all. Drat! that they have to be so expensive. Notice that the model in the first few has a complexion very similar to yours. I think we've found who really looks great in those colors. Lucky you!

Una do you have a Burberry store near you? It would be good to try them on. They all look great on the models but it is hard to know how it will look on you. I didn't want to go as high as a Prorsum but I couldnt get a London to work for me. Your height is a blessing as there are so many more options in London & Brit. If you like one that is too long they will alter it for you. I think one with a more A line shape might be good on you, but maybe other ITs have better advice than me.

All this talk about burberry trenches is inspiring me to lose weight and save money so maybe someday I can have one! Absolutely love the one Diana linked to and the first link Una posted with the collar is amazing.

Oh my, those are some gorgeous coats. Is there a fit similar to your quilted coat that might work?

I hope you get Olive Una. That is what I would have gotten if there was a long enough one. The only long one is the one Rae likes, but I didn't want a funnel collar. See there are advantages to being petite. You can always shorten something but rarely can you lengthen it.
