I had just 30 minutes to walk through the mall today, while my DD was taking guitar lessons. I saw this top at AT:

It seems similar to the Jcrew top Angie blogged about recently, i.e., the fabrication that she described. But I think the Jcrew one had ruffles going all the way down the front? Not sure that would work for me, because I fear it'd accentuate my belly. This may accentuate my chest too much... but it was cute. Thoughts???

Also I ran through Bebe - not *usually* my style (a little too clubby and blingy) BUT... their tops and jackets fit me fairly well for some odd reason. I ended up trying on several leather coats - they are on sale right now. Check them out... tell me which one you like for me, in case I get some time to go back soon:

... they are not quite so cropped on me, since I'm so short, but close enough that they would work fine over a dress...

I would say if you are hourglassy with a chest (yes, more than mine), do try Bebe right now. The leather jackets are CUTE - and edgy! I saw white, black, and a beautiful soft purple. Also a lavender which I thought was too pinkish... but it was different. They also had some really interesting vests (leather and otherwise) too.

That AT top is cute. That reminds me that I have received the J Crew top that Angie blogged about and need to go give it a try. I'm sure it will not be as dramatic as my pirate blouse!!!

Have you tried this on?

I have this top in the Charcoal grey, and love it. It is not cut low, and the ruffles lay flat, they don't bounce out away from the top so it doesn't add bulk to the area, and shouldn't make an already busty gal look bigger, and have had no complaints from customers or co-workers re: that. It is in fact very flattering and a great layering piece.

I would suggest the petite for you for sure, as these are quite long

The top is cute, but pricier then the JCrew one. The jackets are really cute. I don't venture into Bebe for the same reasons you stated, but those jackets are very wearable. I like the Leatherette Washed Moto and the Metallic Moto especially. Have you tried them on?

As a busty girl, I would definitely wear that AT top IF ONLY it didn't have that last little tail-like tier of ruffles. Why oh why did they have to ruin it with that? I think it will work nicely on you though Shiny. For me, that last tier would end up awkwardly under my chest.

I already have 2 motos on my wish list and no money, so I dare not even peek at that link.

Shiny, I LOVE that AT top. I would definitely wear it- I love details like that along a neckline, they make a simple tank much dressier. It's also very you, I think.

I'm surprised by how nice some of those jackets are, actually. I've never shopped in Bebe but for some reason had a completely different image of the store... I'd love the metallic one for wearing with dresses, but I'd probably chicken out of wearing it that often!

I also like the last jacket that Inge posted. The jersey inset jacket. I could see you wearing that. Bebe does have great jackets, especially if you are petite. Angie sent me there to buy my moto jacket last fall, and it has been perfect.
