Well I normally wear between a 7 to 7.5 and I got the Heist in 7.5. All my old pumps/shoes were 7's (except sneakers were 7.5) pre-kids and now my new purchases (boots, pumps, etc) have all been 7.5. But I'm still able to wear a lot of my old size 7 pumps. So I sort of sized up, but not really. They seemed pretty comfortable at home. However, I wore them out for the first time today and it seemed like it was rubbing my pinky toe knuckles a little as I walked. It might be because the toe box is slightly narrow for my feet, but I think it's really just more that the heel is high (over 3 inches) so my foot slides down into the toe box more when I walk compared to lower heels. So unfortunately these are not going to be MOTG/long distance shoes for me. I didn't have an 8 to compare it to, but I think the 8 would probably be too long for my foot. I tried one other style, the "Norma" kitten heel, but that style was even pointier and less room for my feet.
I think you could definitely wear these shoes year round! Hope it works for you!
