After the drama last week involving the "curvy" debate on The Sartorialist, and the crappy comment that someone calling him/herself "The Sart" left on my blog, I had a lot of thinking to do.

One of the things that irked me was that, having very little familiarity with The Sartorialist, I just didn't know if it was him or a troll who had been so rude. This bugged me, because I like looking at the pretty pictures on that blog, but the experience felt a bit tainted.

Also, it just didn't make sense that a professional blogger would go to someone else's blog and be rude. If it was him, I was determined to call him on it, and if it wasn't him then I wanted to alert him to the impostor. So, on Friday I plucked up my courage and...e-mailed The Sartorialist (OMG!). I politely explained what had happened, my dismay, and asked if it was him. I also offered my thanks for his site. Because I'm nice like that.

I received a prompt reply from his assistant, assuring me that it was certainly NOT Scott, and that they strive to keep The Sartorialist an open and welcoming site. They are aware that people sometimes impersonate him, and thanked me for letting them know to be on the lookout for yet another one.

Well, can I just tell you that this made my day? Not only had I pulled myself up by the bootstraps to face a potential meanie, but I had done so with politeness and dignity AND received assurances that the apparently nice man is, in fact, nice!

I wanted to share this with you because I really don't want my weird experience to detract from the delights of The Sartorialist blog. It was a simple case of a troll being a troll.

I *very much* appreciated your support and advice!
