Taking advantage of suggestions re the Boden dress not yet worn. It is a nice dress, completely lined except for the sleeves. The fuller sleeves and lining make it seem dressier to me.
This amethyst pendant that came with a very fine chain that I have a hard time fastening. I usually wear it with an omega chain, but here I try it with a 2-color chain. It doesn't work great because it's a flat chain, but I'll wear it because it's spring. It's also much lighter in color in real life. The dress needs something more casual, right?
I've tried a variety of jackets and sneakers. I thought about putting on either leggings (fake denim?} or pantyhose because of my very pale veined legs, but then it wouldn't feel so casual, would it?
1-6 New denim zip front--Liverpool and Ecco sneakers. Nope
BR denim (Angie has this one.) I like this.
Boden corduroy blazer--very different texture, but picks up the color in the dress.
Long cotton JC cardi--switched to darker Ecco sneakers
Bordeaux leather jacket--this seems to work well, and they feel comfy together.
Then a Boden cotton knit dress from 3 years ago, already comfy, but a bit short-waisted for me. It has a tie belt, which I don't like. Navy with reddish orange polka dots.
7-12 With BR denim
Cotton Land's End cardi that doesn't hang right.
With a Hipsi stretch belt.
With a yet to be worn gold belt.
Side view with pendant/chain belt shows one of my belted problems, it rides up over the belly. Ends up under the bust.
Chanel belt pulled down where I'd like to wear it, but too tight these days. I'd have to wear a waist cincher.
12-13 What I ended up wearing: yesterday's JC Factory sweater, not yet worn cotton cardi JM Collection from Macy sale in January to experiment with brown. For spring. Jeans. Not excited about the two together--I'd rather wear the cardi with a shortsleeved tee or sleeveless top.
14-I don't like the buttons and will remove them. Unlike Boden sweaters that really do unbutton and blend in, these are for decoration.
Sorry these posts run long, but they are very useful for me and keep the anxiety at bay. I do value your opinions.
I think the shorter, nipped in jackets look best with both dresses, but you may see something I don't. I like the brighter colors. I don't have any jean style denim jackets--just don't like to wear them that much.
