Goodness I hope I haven't read the atmosphere wrong here and weird people out
My problem is with bras.( I hear a lot of mental shouts of "Who doesn't have that problem). Le Background: When I got pregnant and eventually five years later gave birth my breasts decided not to do the glossy magazine picture firmness that I was hoping for. They went huge and floppy (floppy not meaning sagging, more like no firmness at all, skin sacks). I lost a lot of weight before pregnancy and gained it all back plus some during even though I couldn't keep almost anything down the whole time. It's been six years and the body has not recovered. I can deal with the fat not coming off but the breast problem has made finding bras a nightmare. I previously was a bra fitter so I know how to measure myself, but floppy breasts makes the cup size problem a hassle. Across styles a 40G or 42F makes for no quad-ing. The floppy problem means when I bend over they flump out. So going down a cup size (alternately up and down a band size with different cup sizes played with) seems liike it would help, but if the cup it's self gets smaller then I end up with lower cups (fabric doesn't come as high) and fleshy mounds around. Full coverage is the best style for my breast width and sternum height. Last night I tried on 42DDD bras at JCPenny and they fit wonderfully IF I adjusted the breasts carefully inside the cups. Which means as much bending and twisting as I do I end up with some slipping and have to readjust. So my question is: Has anyone else every done their own alterations to a bra to fix this problem? I was thinking of adding an elastic (cotton style of course) band to the front section to add height and prevent spilling, but once I take off tags and start to sewing the puppies are mine forever.
