Drugstore:
Maybelline Line Stilletto liquid eyeliner - quite easy to use, no goof-ups
L'Oreal HiP Cream Eyeliner (gel based eyeliner in a little pot) - eggplant is lovely - looks more brown-ish/smudgy than actual purple. One problem: the little brush it comes with is a tiny bit scratchy, so I'd recommend buying a bent eyeliner brush for these, such as shown in picture #1 (item pictured is Sonia Kashuk brand from Target, but there are lots of eyeliner brushes you could find, a flat one would work as well). These cream/bel based eyeliners in a little pot stay on much better than a pencil, but aren't as tricky as a liquid eyeliner - plus they have a softer effect. The L'Oreal Hip Colour Truth cream eyeliner is fabulous. I also like the brown colour as well.
Another good brush is in picture #2 - Japonesque Travel Eyeliner flat eyeliner brush
Pencil - I haven't found a pencil eyeliner I like from the drugstore.
Higher end:
Lancome Artliner Precision Point Eyeliner (liquid) - shown in picture #3 - I always buy brown, and this is my favourite liquid eyeliner of all time.
Gel/cream based - haven't tried or found a higher end one I like as much as the L'Oreal
Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes waterproof pencil eyeliner (picture #4)
Estee Lauder Automatic Eye Pencil Duo - just excellent (picture #5) - I like charcoal - doesn't pull, tug, slides on, never needs sharpening, comes with a refill as well. This is my favourite pencil eyeliner ever.
Happy shopping/trying out - and let us know what you find.
