Make me feel better... anyone else succomb to a Presidents' Day sale?

I wasn't mentally ready to make another big cold-weather purchase after buying my black boots this winter, but I needed to replace my brown ones, and these were 1/3 the original price... had to bite, just in case they work out.

I'm not breaking the bank by any means, and I do a fairly good job of reselling some things when I'm tired of them, but I still feel a little shop-happy lately. Any commiseration is welcome.

Just think about what a great deal you got, and it becomes you taking advantage of the sale rather than the sale taking advantage of you.

I definitely succumbed, Rae! I'm not done yet either! hehe! I'm filling wardrobe holes...at least that's what I'm telling myself. They are things that I "need" and everything I'm buying is on sale!

Cilleena, this is exactly what I told myself. I guess I never expected to find so many holes, what with all the clothes I have!

I didn't, mostly as a function of not finding anything I liked.

I did, however, order some ridiculous sandals on ebay. Ridiculous because I never ever buy shoes like this, as they will never ever work for me...but they are getting rave reviews, even from people who can't or don't normally wear heels, and I know Indigo works well for me, so hopefully they can work on days where I'm not walking as much.

Good job! I love buying expensive things which are reduced. These boots, at an SRP of $300, qualify as expensive in my book.

Maya, those sandals are a steal at $39. I hope they work for you, because they are too cute -- I would totally wear something like that if I could do high heels in my casual life.

Coco, $300 is definitely expensive in my book as well. Way out of my league. And the brand claims that their shoes look and feel like they should be twice the price... we'll see about that one!

Yeah, it will be interesting to see how someone who can scarcely manage 2" heels will manage these :p

I splurged on boots this winter and don't regret it one bit. They will be my friends for many seasons to come.

I succumbed in a controlled way. . .I've been looking for a trench for a while and my warm down coat is looking quite worn. I wandered into macys and found a wool tahari trench and 1/3 original price in exactly my size. . .couldn't pass up warm and trench in the same coat!

danza, what a good deal! It really does make a difference if 1) you were looking for a specific item, rather than shopping to shop and 2) it's fantastic quality for a nice price. I must remember this. Congrats on your trench!
