Major (Striped) Shopping Spree - Need Your Input

My day was spent shopping. I'm not sure I really needed these items but that's what happens when I'm not looking for anything.

I went on this "Stripe" mode because it seemed I was surrounded by them and everything I tried on (except for Anthro) was striped. I did try on a few colors too. These are some of the items I bought today. Let me know what you think:

1. Ann Taylor navy striped dress - fit great & flattering to the body,reasonable at $98
2. BR tie front top, Loft cropped coral jeans which unrolled went past my ankles
3. Loft striped skirt - soft, comfortable although I probably won't wear the black top w/ it
4. Loft white top with navy stripes with pink/coral jeans
5. Loft floral button up with Ann Taylor cropped jeans in 2 regular which hit below my ankle.

What do you all think? Keep or return? I need some more casual clothes.

I like everything except the ditsy floral top in #5, but I don't generally care for that type of floral pattern so have a poisoned eye. Seeing you in stronger prints, it just doesn't seem like it fits in with your style. Love your nude heeled sandals .

I will go in order to make it easier (for me).

1. I think the dress is very flattering on you. The details are nice and it seems to suit you.
2. I like both of these pieces. The jeans fit you well and look really nice and the top is nice on you and should be a great wardrobe piece.
3. I am not loving the skirt. Sorry. It is interesting but If find it a bit too distracting to my eye with the chevron and the fullness and the wide waistband. I have a bit of ADD though so it could just be me.
4. I'm not sure if those are the same coral jeans as 2. They look great but are darker in the pic than in 2. Probably just the pic. I like the top but am not sure I love it.
5. I think the pants fit really well but I think the color may be a bit muted for you.

Lots of great pieces here.

#1 is great. I'm a sucker for a Breton stripe so also like #4.

1, 2, 4, and 5 are all great (I like the ditsy florals on you! and it's a great way to add a bit of pattern and color to a layered outfit. Try it with a colored blazer and jeans.). For some reason I don't like the skirt in #3 on you, though I'm having a hard time identifying why.

I love everything! I'm not sure why some people don't like the skirt in #3? I LOVE it! That first dress looks amazing on you, too! I even like the ditzy floral shirt which I wouldn't have thought I would like, but it looks nice and spring-y! If it were up to me, I'd say keep everything!

My LOVEs: the Ann Taylor dress, the BR top, and the Loft skirt - your figure looks AMAZING
My likes: the Loft top and the Ann Taylor pants
My 'meh's: the Loft pants (great colour but are they a bit crotch bunchy?), and the Loft floral top - the fabric looks a bit stiff in the photo, and I wish the colour was a bit bolder/deeper for your skin tone.

Love everything, especially the striped top in #4, with the exception of the Loft floral top. I have kind of a poisoned eye for those kinds of prints, so take it for what it's worth! Everything else is great!!

I love them all! I actually am a sucker for ditsy floral tops, so I'm a fan of that one, too, even tho the others don't seem to be. Great haul!

The dress in #1 is stunning -- it's a must! The coral jeans, dark pants and striped sweater are fab. I'm less sure about the skirt and the black top. The floral? I actually like the softness of this on you and can see you styling it beautifully!

The other ones, I hate to say, don't suit you as well to my eye. The have this "trying too much" vibe, they don't look comfortable.
The footwear, on the other hand, is sublime. Especially the tan sandals.
Also sublime is the length of the pants. Especially the black ones.

All good finds, with #1 taking the cake, and #4, especially in combination, terrific to my eye! I have to say I also like the chevron skirt and coral pants a lot, and the black top is sure to be very versatile.

I think I"m in majority with loving all except the floral top. It could be brighter (or floral in blues) and a bit longer. Also loving your shoes in all of these. Fantastic haul overall I'd say.

Well, #1 is a total no -brainer. It looks fantastic on you!! What is the fabric? And why oh why don't we have an Ann Taylor here in Canada and why won't they deliver to us? WHY? (Just asking.)

Moving on, I love the black top; great staple. The jeans look good, too, if the comfort factor is there and the fabrication feels right.

I also love the chevron skirt and I actually like it with that top as well...gives off a bit of a sailor vibe, maybe too much for your taste but with the booties it is sweet!

I like the Breton striped top as well.

As for the ditsy floral, I'm not as sure about the colour for you. But that may be simply because we are used to seeing you in stronger black/white combos. I saw that the Bay is featuring Liberty prints this year, very similar to this. They are owned by Lord & Taylor now so maybe L&T has the same ones; they had some more vibrant hues with similar floral patterns; maybe worth checking out. However the price would be higher.

I think they all look great, and I need to give that skirt a little love since others don't seem wild about it -- I like it a lot!

I understand what others are saying about the floral shirt, but I think it looks nice on you, and we all need to depart from our default prints and patterns sometimes. I think it's a good casual alternative for you.

Janet - I do agree with what you said because I can't always wear stripes, polka dots, and basic colors (like black and white) ALL the time. I do need to change things up once in a while otherwise I'll be so bored to death. And thanks about my haircut - - I needed a trim badly.

I was quite surprised no one like the floral top on me considering I have so many floral dresses. Maybe it was the orange /peachy tone that I've never worn. Anyway, I'm may return it but not sure yet.

Suz - I'm stil not sure about the coral jeans and the skinny jeans either. I don't know how people can wear these things because they are so form fitting. All I see are thighs (I know I need to get away from that thinking)

I'm going with the majority here, in saying that all but the floral top are great. But, once again, I've just never been a ditsy floral fan. You ought to look at Denise's most recent post, though(Cocolion), where she layered her floral shirt under bold stripes- very cool.

Funny how the chevron striped skirt is a bit polarizing. Count me in the LOVING it camp!

Wow - good shopping day! I love everything but the floral shirt. The fit of the shirt is great but I'm not keen on those colours against your face. That dress in #1 is THE BOMB!
