Magpie makeup!

Since I maxed out my 36 (though does Xmas money count?), I'm looking for other ways to indulge the magpie!

This makeup palette inspired me https://www.etsy.com/listing/5.....-palette-9
though the shop is in Australia, and the idea of shipping a few itsy eyeshadows feels like overkill. And I wanted carmine free formulas, which these aren't
But some of the shops I regularly buy from have similar- so Samples Are Coming! I've been sticking with browns, bronze for quite a while, but ready for a happy sunset color refresh. Maybe it'll offset the next 4 months of sad grey light?

Anyone else feeling magpie makeup this season?

I ve just spent some Xmas money on makeup but it’s all quite natural colours however I do like a bit of sparkle this time of year and if rainbow colours make you happy I would say go for it!Its good not to get stuck in a makeup rut.

Yes to new makeup of all sorts! And want to see all the new palettes
I don't think any will look drastic on me, since I'm choosing medium- dark warm colors. I've done olives and warm purples and orangy copper in the past, this year adding red/burgundy tones too.
Tried a lip gloss sample today too, not just eye shadow. It's way too light on it's own, but worked over lipstick!

Yes, and that is quite new to me. In the past few months I’ve been playing with bold eye makeup and multiple colors and having a BLAST. (My two new this year palettes from Anastasia and Juvia.)

If you are looking for multi chrome makeup, one that a friend highly recommended is Clionadh, based in Canada. They have gorgeous shadows.

YAY for Magpie Makeup! A daytime smoky eye with a touch of bronze or gold is one my favorite looks. I've been experimenting with sunset colors like pink, orange, russet red and warm plum with great success. These are colors that only a few years ago I might have shied away from. Now to find the perfect gold lip gloss for the holidays.

Those are so pretty to look at! I can’t imagine any of these sparkly brights looking right on my face though. Too many wrinkles and lines. I will enjoy on others!

I'm totally into it for the first time ever. I'm still wary about shimmer and glitter on my face, but I've been playing around with some more "out-there" eye makeup this winter and liking it! I've bought a Huda eyeshadow palette that has some really fab rose gold and pink sequin-glitter (yes) colours, and a silver liquid liner which looks great with a subtle grey shadow. Also loving a super intense chrome Huda lipgloss. Call me crazy, but I'm having fun;)

I’d need to see this on some women around my age to know if it’s for me. Love it on teens, but don’t want to look like I’m trying to turn back time, iykwim.

These eyeshadows are gorgeous! So tempting. I add a small amount of metallic type olive eyeshadow to the outer corner of my eye for evening. I use sumptuous olive by MAC. The rest of the eyeshadow is neutral (grain, soft brown and saddle). I might try sumptuous olive on my movable lid with something else in the crease for an evening look.

I'm such a magpie with makeup, I used to own several Sleek palettes but brought my stash down to one these past years. I minimized my makeup routine, eyeshadow got out of style, and now I just can't make time for a good shimmery look any more ... It's gone so far I feel very self-conscious when wearing any kind of obvious make-up amongst my unmade up, or very natural-looking, friends, colleagues and family... too bad because I still have that inner magpie, that's picked up three bright red lippies recently!

I'm using the Venus grunge eyeshadow palette from Lime Crime. The colors are earthy yet vibrant and very 90s

Looks so fun! Unfortunately with my pale skin and little contrast in my coloring I'm always looking for more subtle/pale/cool colors with a hint of shimmer. The biggest challenge is finding liquid eye liners that not black, dark brown, vivid blue or any neon colors. "Almay" intense i-color in black amethyst used to be my favorite and then disappeared from stores. I did find new "Maybelline" liquid liner in violet nova ( slightly pale but sparkly ) that I'm giving a try.

So pretty! I think these would look smashing used as a liner for a classic-with-a-festive-twist look.

Unfortunately I've all but given up on eyeshadow due to my sensitive eyelids ... so I shall magpie vicariously through you suntiger!

@slimcat I see a lot of very light sparkly colors out there too, and have been guilty of buying them! The violet sounds pretty.

I love shimmer and shine in eye shadow. For Christmas I have bought my friend a Chanel limited edition shimmery eye shadow. I know she will love it, sometimes little luxuries are the best gifts.

Update- my magpie colors arrived Haven't tried all, but it's a nice refresh.
Eventually I'll make finds or something to show the keepers!
