Madewell tee sizing?

Can anyone give me advice on Madewell tee sizing?

On the madewell US size chart I am a small but on the madewell Australian size chart I am a medium.

I have a 35 inch bust and fairly broad shoulders.

I was thinking of opting for a medium unless people suggest they run large?

I have not tried one on but, from what I have seen, I don’t think they run large. I think you are right to go with a medium. They look like they run tts or a bit small.

I only own this Madewell tee (same cut; two colors), so I don't have a ton of experience, but this particular one runs a bit small.

So the reason why I’m attracted to the tees is that they are 100% cotton, interesting colours and a reasonable price. Interesting colours are SO hard to find here in summer. Everything is neutral or light/pastel.

I just found that I can get NM’s tee at an Australian Department store. At first I was excited but then I found the only colours available are white, black, grey and navy blue. The same colours as every other local retailer is offering. So frustrating! So once again I will be buying from Shopbop instead of from a local retailer. Sigh!

Madewell has fantastic colors in all items. I’m with you, I get so bored of the usual retailer options: white, black, gray.

I wear XS in Madewell despite being a little bit busty. I find their stuff stretchy.

I live in Madewell's classic one pocket tees during the summer and find that style runs TTS.

I don’t know about that specific tee, but I have several Madewell tees (most recently the V-neck style) and find them slightly generously cut. I seem to be a consistent S in their tees (I am typically a size US 6 or 8 in tops), so I think a M would be much too large on you.

All the Madewell tops I’ve tried run a size large on me. I have regular shoulders and am a size 30E bust and take XS or XXS in drapier styles. I have seen complaints of quality in some reviews, but I’ve owned 6 of their tees in various styles and never had problems. In fact, I find their small touches like neckline seams to be better made than higher-price brands like Vince. Their tees are so soft and I love their colour selections.

I agree with Janet: of your two sizes, size down. I'm often a M (6) in tops, but take S in Madewell.

I wear the madewell vneck cotton tees. I'm between med and large (34D ish), and get the large in these because I like my tees a bit loose. They are thin, so
a bit clingy in the smaller size for me. I also dry them in the dryer on low, so they shrink a wee bit but hold up well.

UGH, Brooklyn, so frustrating! I wish there were an affordable way for me to send them to you!

I looked at the description of the tees I have; it says they are "shrunken fit"(?) Maybe that's why they feel small to me. I am a XS/S in JCrew tees (32A/B bust), and I have these in S. I prefer a loose-ish (not bodycon, more of a boyfriend) fit in my tees, if that helps at all.

I guess what worries me is that the model is said to be wearing a size small and she has a 31 inch bust. That’s a lot smaller than me. I don’t dry my clothes in the dryer, so shrinkage should not be an issue, but I don’t want it to be tight.

Thanks for chiming in again NM. I think the shrunken fit of your tee might make it different. I will definitely go larger in that.
