MaddyParis for a mother of the bride outfit?

Hello,
Long time since I have posted here, because things have been chugging along fine with my low turnover wardrobe, but now I crave your advice !

My oldest daughter is getting married in March and I am looking for an outfit.
I am thinking pale blue because the bridesmaids are wearing pink, and it is sure to be a hot or warm day in Australia.
I really prefer structured, tailored sheath, type dresses (think Cue) but most dresses I have found online searching are fit and flare with full skirts.

However, I have found one I like online see attached screenshot, but I have not heard of the brand before. It's called Maddyparis.
1) do any of you know if it's legitimate?
2) how well does it fit as per the size chart?

I don't know that brand--most of the online retailers I have used I've been pleased with. Of course, when you are getting down to the tight discounts of places like Shein, I allow a bust once in a while.

I did like eShakti, which allows you to customize a dress, but it took forever to arrive.

Maddyparis is charging a lot more than Shein, almost more than my budget, so I am being cautious in that respect!

I found only one online review.
I was tempted by the Eshakti concept, but a delay would be too stressful for this occasion!

Thank Jenni, and I loved those blue shoes you posted recently.

I am pretty suspicious. They're not an Australian site, and their site sometimes uses the words Malvi Paris instead, and I have found reports of their being a scam https://www.reddit.com/r/Scams.....aris_am_i/

Oh well, I will just post a picture of the dress I like, and perhaps YLF folk might have seen something similar somewhere legitimate.

Trust the reviews. People submitted them for a reason. I wouldn't go for it. Look for something similar from a trusted brand, or at least with good reviews.

I'm guessing you've looked at Myer dresses . . . I couldn't find any suitable in light blue (but I did find a lovely one in navy). Best wishes for a successful search.

Hi Anne, Long time no see! Congratulations on the impending nuptials of your eldest daughter! I can't believe how quickly time passes.
At this point, I think it is safe to assume that all apart from reputable brands, most online retailers are either a scam (worst case scenario), or are a retail front for shady clothing companies shipping from China (better but still not good). In that case, you might receive your order with a delay (due to international shipping or other logistical problems), the sizes will be all over the place, or the quality will be nothing like what the pictures suggest. So better safe than sorry!

Thanks Lise and Violetmyra. Yes, I have looked online at Myer, (and all the other Australian retailers I could think of). Myer did used to have a very similar dress, but is out of stock. However I am going to go down to look in person today as well.

Congratulations Anne!! How exciting.

I think this is a drop shipping type site. There have been a few of them here purporting to be local boutiques but they are not. The product does arrive but quality is not strong.

It is a pretty shape and would suit you well! How about second hand eg Designer Wardrobe - I have had good success shopping on this site and so often only worn once?

I bought a dress in this price range for my son’s wedding and also had to pay for alterations. Initially, I didn’t want to spend money on something to wear once and tried rental dresses. But I couldn’t find anything that was perfect. So, I bought my dress and got it altered. I never regretted it. It felt comfortable, looked good and came out nice in the photos.

That David Jones dress is really pretty. When I was choosing I tried on various ones that appealed and asked the forum, but ultimately bought a sale dress in the cobalt I love and had it altered. In your city are there any sort of outlet type boutiques you could trawl through- new clothes but maybe last year’s stock or something which might reduce the price somewhat? We used to have one called Serendipity which was a great name because it really was! I guess you are looking for quite a specific colour… just I found a ball dress for a daughter once that way at maybe say $80 instead of $300! But it does mean trawling through B&M stores all over town possibly.
