Is anyone picking up anything from the Banana Republic Mad Men collection? I love way too much of it but I managed to contain myself and just order the lace shell in black and white. If they fit properly, I think they might be workhorses.

MG, that shell is wonderful.

I really expected to like the collection more than I do. That era usually fits me (and my figure) perfectly, but there's something about the proportions on a lot of it that I can tell isn't going to work this time. =( Money saved, I guess.

Di-I just couldn't resist them! I wear a lot of cardigans and I think they'll look super classy underneath. But I get what you're saying. I was hoping there would be more accessories. The necklace and scarves look like very similar to items in other stores. Besides the shells, I really REALLY love the leopard cardi and the navy silk bow top but they're just a bit too expensive for me right now. They're so beautiful though. I'm going to keep a look out for BR discount codes.

I saw a suit that I liked (the one with bracket length sleeves) but BR suits are typically a NO for me... They have a weird fiton me, I think I'm between sizes. I loved how everything was styled, but I'll have to wait for the sale

I got out to a BR last night to check it out and I have to say I really liked a lot of the pieces in person. Modernized vintage is my style, though. I am sorely tempted by some of the a-line skirts and the lace tops are gorgeous...I could see myself wearing those with EVERYTHING. I've got some coupons for BR so I should just go for it!

There's a lot to love here. The clothes are very pretty, modern and retro at the same time. I'm kind of disappointed that they don't have petite sizing. When BR did this style about 5 years ago (they didn't call it mad men back then) they had petites available.

I think I can do these looks with clothes that I already have at home. I am comfortable with this bombshell style, I just need to make sure it doesn't veer into costume territory.

ETA: How wrong I was! They do have petite sizes! Hmmm.... I have to take another look!
