I’m really not trying to spam the forum today but I made time today to go do some returns and try on some dresses at Nordstrom. No keepers but at least I got them out of my system and may help some of you see what these Topshop dresses look like on someone not a model! I thought the floral might be like the old Sweetpea blouses but it’s woven poly. Both are US 8 and I’m 5’4”. The green dress is Leith, M and too body con but made me look like I had a butt so I wanted to share! Haha!

Fun to see "real world" modeling. I have the Leith dress (I actually own 2 sleeveless and 1 sleeved version). I sized up which made it far less bodycon but still cute.

The longer dresses actually look quite good on you, just such a different vibe with all that length. You can pull it off. Funny, we're about the same height and I had no idea--you never know from pictures. (I'm maybe closer to 5'5", but not longer quite there, as I once was.)

I am 2 inches shorter than you and a size bigger and can tell those dresses would just swamp me. They look nice on you but I would want to hem them and that might ruin the look.

@christina: I think so. It does not stretch and I’m usually a US8 in Topshop knit tops. I could not fill out the bust though. The waist was on the loose side too but not sure I could size down in the shoulders.

I looked at the pics before reading your post or the comments - my thought was that the green dress was super flattering without being body con! The neckline and arms are positively demure. A departure from your usual silhouette though, so perhaps just not your preference?
