This would happen to me automatically if I ever wore low-rise jeans, considering most of my underwear consists of slipshorts. Guess I'm on-trend without even trying

I live in Camden, NJ and some years back the boxers on display were a very common look for the guys and I did see it on one young gal, but none of them had boxers peeking up over the top like that. All of them
were wearing them much lower so they weren't bunching and puffing up and then there was a lot of territory between those and the top of the baggy jeans.

Yes I remember this on guys in the 90s, though many continued it for far longer.

I had a client that would wear his pants like that. I took him to an interview one day. Well the boss had been in prison, and many of the people that worked at this company were on work release. First thing the boss said to my client was "pull your d@#% pants up!" Then he said in prison it means you're... ahem...available.

Oohhh, interesting about the prison take on that. I have to admit it's what I thought it looked like on the girl. On the guys what it looked like, and often was, was that the gun in their pocket was weighing down the pants.

I actually like the example shown. What I’m personally not a fan of is the bra as a top, especially if it’s cold enough to need /want a coat…but I realize that that’s my personal poison eye, and well I’ve also learned to never say never.

Why does the fashion world have to go to the extremes? I like a slightly lower/shorter rise because my rise is fairly short, and all the high rise pants of the past few years fit me terribly and give me polterwang. Way too much fabric in the crotch. However, I can really do without seeing people’s underwear, and don’t care to show mine either.

I feel like an old curmudgeon but damn this stuff is just annoying. I am to the point of paying very little attention to trends because I’m just gonna wear what I like and what suits me.

I've been seeing this on the runways for a while. I see streetwear sport this look daily, but on men.

The same is being done with pantyhose waistbands (exposing them above bottoms). It will not go mainstream - promise

Lower rises are on the way back, though. But mid and high rises will stay put. We will have a choice of any rise length soon!

In some ways it’s not much different than the tail of a button down hanging below a sweater, or layered t-shirts with the band of one longer than another. I’ve seen some sweaters designed with a sewn in faux hem peeping out. I’m sure there will be some versions of double or layered pants waists with faux underpants already sewn in.

That said, I’ll pass on this trend as I hang on to the high waisted bottoms that work for my body.
