Loved this Zara top, but not the dry clean factor

I shopped at Zara today and bought a pink sweater just like Marley, when I noticed this top as I was walking out. There's something I like about it and then there's the other issue that it's dry clean only, which I detest. I also wonder, with this new silhouette, if I look like I'm in an oversized wet suit.

It also came in this same material, in white, and black leather.

I try to avoid dry clean except on exceptional pieces. I just don;t want the maintenance, and I find dry cleaned clothes can make me itch.

Have you thought about 'home dry cleaning' at all? I have a gorgeous cardi (part silk) from J. Crew that was DCO and I didn't notice at the time, bought a dryel packet, thanks to the ladies here, worked like a charm

In agreement here and, yes, I do have the Dryel and may consider it, but am still in "think mode" on this top. Glad to know it works like a charm as I've only used it with a silk blouse and one wool sweater on a few occasion.

It looks good, Vicki - but like you, I hesitate for dry clean only items. If it's silk or wool I just wash anyway. But...you know...for some things, that doesn't seem to work so well.

I have used the home dry cleaning kits before and I like them, but I have to really love a top to buy one that has to be dry cleaned. Skirts, no problem, but I'm always leery about tops that require dry cleaning - I feel like they need a good wash to get any perspiration odors out!

Is it that neoprene fabric? In 2011 Zara had so e items on this fabric here on Australia. It looked like scuba gear:). I love the cut and style of the top but not the fabric so much.

Yes, Deborah, this is EXACTLY what it is. You've got a good eye. The top is so very modern, but the material is so very weird or odd to me. That's my dilemma.

I love it. I remember that fabric from last year - I think it is very futuristic looking. If I could wear turtlenecks I'd buy this in a second! You look great in this Vicki - at least in the picture! For a really unique piece like this, I would really not care that it had to be dry-cleaned - I mean, honestly - its not like you're going to have to get it dry-cleaned all that often - you don't sweat that much, do you? (Also, I just realized that part of the reason that I love this is because it looks just like something that Tilda Swinton would wear - my fashion hero.)
