Louboutin's range of "nude" shoes

I came across this article today about Christian Louboutin making a range of "nude" shoes to suit a variety of skin colors. It's an interesting idea and in some ways I am surprised that nobody has done it before.

Any thoughts?

I appreciate that someone is *finally* thinking about "nude to me" shoes, but he's going to need a good range of actual brown tones to become a major player that people of color will actually consider. Taupe brown and odd shades just doesn't cut it!

Currently, I have to find "light brown leather" shoes as my nude to me tone, and it's very rare that I've ever seen a patent nude shoe that's my color, so it will be interesting to see his range of shades -- even though his shoes are still out of my range of price. Hopefully, as trend-followers do, other shoe makers will follow suit, because I baby my nude shoes like crazy because who knows when I'll ever find another.

It's a good idea as long as there is enough choice and good colours as Von says.

Indeed, even as a white woman, and thus theoretically the kind of person designers have in mind for "nude" shoes, I find that most of the time it is not really anything like my actual skin color. It would be nice to have something more like a makeup counter, where you can pick from a huge variety of shades and even custom-mix them if you are crafty.
