Lose the bubble?

I picked this up at a thrift shop this morning.

So far I've ditched a cutesy little bow on the waist and changed the straps from unfastened halterneck style to straight up & over. Both big improvements.

I'm not sure if I should keep it as a bubble skirt or have it unpicked & hemmed.

Yay = lose the bubble
Nay = keep the bubble

I'd lose the bubble. You'll have an amazing 50's vibe without it, and it'll drape beautifully. What a cute piece!

I think it works either way. I'd keep the bubble for now, bubbles aren't over yet, are they? At least try it. If it doesn't feel right, then de-bubble it.

Goodness, now I'm feeling my age - I can remember bubbles from the first time around. On this basis I vote lose it (too many dodgy '88 disco memories!).

Very pretty dress. I'm not a fan of the bubble hem so would removed it while keeping as much length as you can.

I didn't even think about being able to alter bubbles . . . yes, I'd lose it with this dress. Very cute summer dress!!

I'm in the minority. I like the bubble. But I think it'd be fine without the bubble, too. The print and color are divine.

I love the changes you've made already. Would never think to take a halter and turn it into a straight stap dress. Brilliant!

In this case I'm not a fan of the bubble but I tend to be overly conservative.

I voted to lose the bubble. The bodice is so flattering on you - I think the bubble skirt takes the focus away from it.

Brilliant idea, changing the halter to straight straps. That could be a life-changing eye-opener for me when I thrift! and I vote to lose the bubble as well.
