I've been searching high and low for replacements for some old beloved long-sleeve tees. They were Gap Purebody fitted tees done with a blend of cotton and elastane (not modal), sold for years until about a couple of years ago, when they were discontinued.
I am searching for tees that compare to the qualities I loved about the old ones:
1) They were comfortably fitted, as they had enough elastane to keep them stretchy. Many fitted tees nowadays don't have enough give and are uncomfortable (I find this with Zara and JCrew tees).
2) You could order your true size for a skintight fit, or a size up for a body-skimming but not sausage-casing look.
3) They were thin, so you could layer them easily.
4) They were breathable because of the cotton (unlike the modal ones).
5) The cotton/elastane proportion was just right, so the tees kept their shape as you wore them. This is not the case with many cotton tees (e.g. soft JCrew cotton tees sag and loosen up after a few hours)
6) The cotton/elastane blend gave them a silky but not shiny look that looked a bit dressier and more put together than regular cotton tees.
I've tried tees here and there but haven't found anything that would fit the bill. Any suggestions of brands I should try?
